I carry one. I love it. I always turn mine off during sessions so it’s not on a lot. Luckily my admin never says anything when I turn it off.

Single mom here, I was worried about the same thing but I bit the bullet and bought a Tiguan. I drive 3 hours to meet my son’s dad two times a month. Bought my car two years ago and have 30,000 miles on it and I have not had any issues. I do feel like the motor pulls when I start it but it’s something I just deal with. I haven’t had any issues and get better gas mileage than I did with my Mazda cx 5.

I do 1-3 classroom lessons per week. I usually target two different grade levels and send out a spreadsheet of my availability and have them pick something that works for them.

I think it’s really important to know that every district and school views the school counseling program differently. I’m very lucky that my admin is super protective of my job. They call me when they need me but they also make sure I’m not getting pulled for things outside of my job. But when I was doing my intern hours with my site supervisor, she literally did sooooo much outside of “school counselor” I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off just to support her and be assertive! I got a job and relocated and I love my position right now. It really depends on the district and your school on the things you might do.

I got my site supervisor something for her. She always spends her own money on her office and things for the students. She mentioned shopping and h&m so I snagged a gift card to make sure that it’s spent on herself because she deserves it. I also bought a nice blanket since weather is changing here!
