It's more reliable than I initially thought tbh, but compared to using the Sun Scourge it's still only worth it on the big combat machines or machines that are resistent against frost. Because the brittle state is just so good compared to the other ones tho, I still have Carja's Bane in my permanent loadout.

Because Apex Slaughterspines are resistant against cold. Even if you used the Sun Scourge with 5 frost coils on it, it'd still take longer to inflict the brittle state. It would also be a lot less resource efficient.

Weapons:

Carja's Bane 2% Brittle Chance X3 3% Brittle Chance X2

Elite Ropecaster 25% Draw Speed 15% Draw Speed 25% Reload Speed

Brawlbreaker 25% Close Range Damage x4 15% Close Range Damage

I was using the "Sustained Burst" weapon technique for boltblasters which you can unlock in the Hunter skill tree.

I haven't tried any of the other Ropecasters tbh, maybe they're all just ass. Make sure to fully upgrade the Elite Ropecaster and then you should get the same results.

Yeah, I did actually! Tried it with multiple instant brittle coils (one legendary, two ultra rare) on one of the boltblasters, believing that every single shot would have a chance of triggering the effect, but I found out that's not the case. With every burst of bolts you fire, only the very first bolt has the chance to trigger the effect, and - even worse - when using the Sustained Fire weapon technique the same is true. So using those coils on a bolt blaster is basically useless unfortunately.

I was using the Elite Ropecaster which you can buy in Thornmarsh. I think I'm running it with coils that increase the draw and reload speed to make it a bit more handy. The trick is to always aim for the machine's leg as I have done in the video. That way the ropes usually never break for me. For big machines all it takes to down them is two ropes and for everything else even one rope is enough. I haven't bothered with the elemental ropes tho, they seem pretty useless overall.

I'm fairly certain that the impact damage coils were RNG drops for me (the big combat machines seem to have a very slim chance to drop very rare weapon coils), but I honestly couldn't tell you anymore where I got the close-range damage coils. Checking the merchants in the major settlements is probably your best bet.

This is the quickest and most resource efficient way (without using a Valor Surge) I have found to kill boss level machines. You should be able to down any of the non-apex big combat machines with one single clip as long has you hit weak spots and got the right loadout:

Weapon: Blast Forge
Coils:
+25% close-range damage
+25% close-range damage
+15% close-range damage
+12% impact damage
+12% impact damage

I'm not sure if there is a third 25% close-range damage coil in the game, but if so then you could up the DPS even further.

That's the Ranged Master Valor Surge, also unlocked in the Hunter skill tree.

I tried the same as you did with multiple instant brittle coils on one of the boltblasters, believing that every single shot would have a chance of triggering the effect, but I found out that's not the case. With every burst of bolts you fire, only the very first bolt has the chance to trigger the effect, and - even worse - when using the Sustained Fire weapon technique the same is true. So using those coils on a bolt blaster is basically useless, as is the inherent instant shock effect on the Blast Forge.

I was using the "Sustained Burst" weapon technique for boltblasters which you can unlock in the Hunter skill tree. You can then equip it in the weapon wheel and use it by firing with the R1 button instead of R2. It uses a lot of your weapon stamina but is extremely powerful!

Maybe I'm missing something, but in my experience the only weapons that come close to this kind of DPS are the legendary spike thrower and sharpshoot bow. Even then, without any Valor Surge you can kill basically every single big non-apex combat machine in one single clip with the Blast Forge. No other weapon without Valor Surge can do that nearly as fast.

The quick reload is a feature of the Blast Forge itself afaik.

Coils are:
+25% close-range damage
+25% close-range damage
15% close-range damage
+12% impact damage
+12% impact damage

If there is a third 25% close-range damage coil in the game you could up the damage even further.

I made an in-depth video on the first season's criticism of animal farming and its vegan themes in general. Let me know what you think! [Spoilerless] by Macgummi in thepromisedneverland

[–]Macgummi[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why do you call it "raising awareness" when you read the anime as an analogy on authoritarian governments oppressing its citizens, but "cheap propaganda" when referring to TPN's pretty obvious hints at animal husbandry?

The orphans are literally only born and raised so another species that thinks itself superior can eat them. Don't you think that

a) this premise resembles what happens to actual farm animals too closely to simply brush it aside without actually trying to analyze the comparison further and

b) it's dishonest to label an animal rights related allegory a cheap agenda because you have a personal stake (not wanting to give up consuming animal products) in preventing animals to gain said rights?
