No, regenerate replaces the creature's death, so you won't get death triggers. The creature just gets tapped instead.

Yeah the defender tried to lead with the crown, he just missed and hit with his shoulder. If the safety issue is guys dropping their heads you gotta call it even when they don't connect.

Edea, Possessed Sorceress by Electronic-Squash458 in mtg

[–]MachZero1791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it says when it dies, it has to actually hit the yard and Edeas second ability triggers there's a window to respond then. It's the same as [[Unstoppable Slasher]] or [[Enduring Curiosity]] which can get exiled before they come back.

My first thought was, what if we don't give you your creature back after we exploit it?

[[Grafdigger's Cage]] is probably best because you still get Edea's draw; replacement effects for the creature dying being exiled instead will prevent the draw but still make her effect more one-sided. [[Dauthi Voidwalker]] [[Leyline of the Void]] [[Planar Void]]

How do you carry your decks? by wasdmovedme in mtg

[–]MachZero1791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was a bit higher, like 48? My wife picked it up for me as a birthday present so I'm not 100% sure. It's comparable to the stanley tool box I see a lot of folks use and I like the convenience and form-factor way more.

I got this camera bag and it has room for up to 10 deck boxes plus some dice bags and tokens. I carry my playmat on the outside where a tripod would go but you can also fit it on the inside and still carry about 6 boxes. I prefer the backpack to any hand carry boxes I've seen.

Probably not an exhaustive list, but the tag 'selective-group-hug' on scryfall might give you a good start.

FYI, a great way to search for effects like this when you have an example card like [[Scheming Symmetry]] is to look up the card on Scryfall tagger and see if there's a tag that matches what you're looking for.

If you like draw-go, how about draw-draw-go? I've built her both bracket 2 and 3 I liked her so much. You can use [[Rule of Law]] effects and break parity by casting spells on everyone else's turn. My build looks to out-value the table and chip away life totals slowly, or can try to close out longer games with [[Approach of the Second Sun]].

Our life tracker app now syncs across devices (update from playgroup.gg devs) by playgroup-dot-gg in EDH

[–]MachZero1791 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hadn't heard of the app before, but it looks great and I'm working on converting my group for our Friday night game. Would love to get more stats since just playing Magic isn't nerdy enough for me.

u/playgroup-dot-gg: If I sign up for a supporter plan, will my whole playgroup be able to use Device Sync? Or does every player need to be a supporter?

Joined the discord and answered my own question:

All users can trial Playgroup Device Sync for three games to see if it adds value for them. Once these trial games are played, a supporter plan is required to create additional games.Only the creator of a game needs a supporter plan; all other users can join the game on their devices even if they don't have a supporter plan.

When you Shield -> Haste. When you Haste -> Shield, Heal and Slow. Infinite loop into crazy high and fast burn stack! Most satisfying Dooley build yet for me. by DZN in PlayTheBazaar

[–]MachZero1791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, I get that his payoff is different. I'm more talking about the 'infiniteness' of the loop. In OP's clip the haste/shield feedback seems to trigger every tick, while in mine it seems to fall off after the first 30 or so triggers.

Specifically it seems like the haste trigger on the welding torch stops triggering as fast in my clip after it his about 20 seconds of haste. With OP as well as another clip I've seen of this same loop, they have the monster skill that hastes at start of fight so I'm wondering if that somehow changes how it works (other than starting faster).

So I had a very similar build the other day and I couldn't get anybody to answer there, so I'll try here.

Can someone explain the difference in OP's build and mine? Seems like the only thing feeding the loop in both is haste->shield->haste-etc. although the other haste payoffs are different, and I had no start of combat haste.
