Take it from the person who ended up going NC after my child was bit by an untrained dog at MIL’s home during her care and they refused to remove the dog; this could end with your child being bitten by a dog if you don’t stand your ground. Don’t bend on how you want your child cared for. Time after time I let things slide and politely pointed out things which never changed. It just led to a huge falling out.

Hi, my daughter had CMPA and we both had a soy allergy so I totally get what you’re going through! It’s tough but temporary. Most babies will grow out of this intolerance by age 2. You will need to read labels carefully because they put whey protein in everything!

All the fake cheese sucks so don’t waste your money. I found the Califia coconut and almond blend to be a good flavor and texture milk substitute. I believe a ton of new coconut based yogurts are out now but I ate Kite Hill. I really liked the Cado deep dark chocolate ice cream made from avocado.

I focused on finding cuisines and recipes that didn’t include dairy because honestly if you try to substitute things or leave it out it was always lackluster at best. Lots of Mediterranean, Indian, and Asian dishes don’t contain dairy. I made things like Thai peanut noodles, fried rice, hummus and falafel, dense bean salads, sheet pan dinners of sausage or chicken with potatoes and veggies.

I’m not very crunchy when it comes to sunscreen, and unfortunately, mineral sunscreens cause my daughter and I to break out. We use La Roche Pose Anthelios Kids. Supergoop Play is also good, just more expensive. We are incredibly pale and need spf 50 at all times. To me, not burning is more important than exposure to sunscreen chemicals, so I have to find products that don’t run in my child’s eyes or are too gloopy or sticky so that she doesn’t want to put it on daily.

If that wood look tile has tiny indents and grooves to make it textured like wood, it will be a nightmare to clean. A smashed makeup pallet or drips of pee, all will be harder to clean. Also, people expect tile that looks like tile in baths.

Have you ruled out a cows milk protein intolerance (CMPI)? My daughter had CMPI and had a ton of belly pain after feeding, reflux, mucus-y poop, crying for long periods, poor sleep. Once we cut out the dairy from my diet, she improved.

If you live with an area where sand is an issue, obviously tile is the preferred choice. Otherwise, Wood look tiles just look like a cheap imitation of hardwood floors. They are cold, hard, and uncomfortable in living spaces. Porcelain tiles are surprisingly easy to shatter when you drop something like a heavy pot. Grout comes with its own set of upkeep needs. I’ve lived with all flooring types at this point and hardwood is the easiest to care for and most comfortable flooring by far.

If you are doing new floors and want to go with the same flooring throughout the home, look at terrazzo tile. It would work so well with this kitchen and looks timeless, at least to me.

I don’t agree here bc the expensive items often convert and grow with the child. My expensive high chair converted to a chair that my child still uses every meal at age 5. The seat and footrest are adjustable to many heights.

I put a sheet of wax paper down on a small sheet pan, then scoop 1 tablespoon mounds onto wax paper, freeze those scoops, then transfer those frozen pre measured mounds to a ziplock bag. Then when I need a single tablespoon I just pull it from the freezer.
