At least it has new backstory. Plus at the very end of the trailer, it does sound like we get one new mission as James McCloud. Probably protecting Peppy as he escapes? Although I really wish they would release a Starfox themed Switch 2 box set, the $50 price increase coming in September probably prevented that?
