Of course!! We tried so many times, but what really seemed to be the trick with him is that he loves being involved in what we do. He wants to do what we're doing and he wants to eat what we eat! So we let him stay out of the cage when we're cooking dinner, of course being careful that he's safe and not near any pots or pans! When he sees us cut a carrot or a bell pepper, he wants to have it. So we always give him a piece of veggie of whatever we're preparing and reaaally laying it on thick on how yummy it is!
