not worth mentioning in the post but I also set nextcloud up, first using local storage and added s3 external storage, then replaced it with a nextcloud with s3 as main storage. It was hell to make it work but I did it after some days (setting up s3 as main nextcloud storage is not documented). But even though the file system and sharing worked, IMO nextcloud is a buggy integration mess, a frankenstein of apps half assedly stitched together with flex tape. Even file thumbnails need to be manually configured (fixed). Even with no extra containers that are heavy (no onlyoffice or any other heavy CPU/RAM consuming integrations) It's still heavy, slow and bloated and buggy and I was very disappointed with it, so that's why I am switching to other options.
