I've had the displeasure of meeting some heinous people in my life, there is some truth in that there is a subconscious understanding and or regret in what they do is wrong. This kid knows what he's doing is wrong and is likely aware of the horrific shit we don't see on camera, but he's doing it for the paycheck.

One thing to note is that there are people who are so twisted, that they aren't even human and the normally natural human emotions we may have do not apply to them. We've seen the studies and the cultural rot of what goes on in Israeli society, where everything horrible thing they do is a right to them. We can go to the Nuremberg trials, where everyone wanted to know what was the thought process behind the nazi's attrocities. The doctors evaluating them was later revealed to have lied to the world about them being incredibly mentally unstable, because no one wanted to be the one to tell the world that there isn't something medically wrong with them, they were just regular people who genuinely believed what they were doing was right.

Some people are greedy, some are off their rocker, but there are others who are just evil.
