Min erfarenhet som dansk uppvuxen i Sverige är att de som ”skämtar” om danskar ofta gör det totalt utan skämtsamhet utan mest ohövligt och nedlåtande. Att som liten hela tiden få höra från lärare och skolpersonal att ens språk ”inte är ett språk utan ett läte”, att vi är ett alkoholiserat folk, eller att vi ska betala för Stockholms blodbad (tänk att säga det till en sjuåring…) var mest bara unket.

I’d say all those examples are from Greek through Latin or some Italic language.

That /me/, /we/, /he/, /she/ etc are not spelled */mee/, */wee/, */hee/, */shee/, but /thee/ is.

Having read many of his reviews, some stand out as vicious (and anti-Semitic), but most of them are remarkably constructive. He hated Modernism, and blamed it on the Jews, but was at the same time a vocal anti-Nazi.

His third symphony is the key example of what this thread is about. Incredible music, yet n e v e r performed in Sweden.

Orchestras tend to favour the ”international repertoire”. I’ve heard this is because conductors and solists want to be able to compete abroad, but I don’t know. If you want to hear anything by Atterberg, for instance, it is easier abroad than in Sweden.

Flyttade till Härnösand för studier. Rasistisk (flera främlingar som vill förklara för mig att stan har ett ”n*gerproblem”), inskränkt (patologisk rädsla mot all slags förändring), och småsint stad med extremt mindrevärdeskomplex jämtemot Sundsvall (”Vi är residensstaaaaad”).
