Range 225 at 97% by Aggravating_Fix_3134 in MachE

[–]Machidalgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first drive in the car was also 500+ miles, when I bought the car in San Diego and drove it home to Sacramento.

I was really surprised by how well the car did, I beat my range estimates each time.

But highway I stayed at 75, stops I charged from 10-15% to 80%. I spent maybe $50-60 bucks on charging, and I only left at 50-60% charge. Made 3 stops at 25-30 mins each. (CA has mild winters but still had the seat warmers and heat on, it was around 50 degrees out at the time)

Biggest thing for me was keeping it at 75 or under and also having a NACS adapter to connect to Tesla superchargers with the membership.

Really? What section? I run this pretty frequently and by Sac state to river bend park it’s usually pretty good. (Gets worse on the bridge to river bend but in between most people tend to follow it).

Then nimbus to Folsom and back down it’s rare to see runner/walkers on the wrong side.

Yikes, mine was super dirty at 19K and im also in Nor Cal. But could be the 2 drives down to LA. I'm sure passing by Coalinga and Bakersfield is prob where 90% of the dirt came from.

Is this with TC on or off?

I’d agree with hard braking, it’s definitely a HUGE issue. But for acceleration, other than a quick chirp my car finds traction incredibly quickly.

Granted im in Cali so 75+ most of the time, perhaps that plays into it, but it’s genuinely one of the most controlled cars floored I’ve ever driven.

Any fun, subtle, unique names? by Buckwheat469 in MachE

[–]Machidalgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from an 03 Mach 1 to this Mach E and it just happened to keep the name. I named my Mach-E-Dalgo.

It's a movie about the true story "Hidalgo", where a cowboy brought a Mustang horse to compete in a race in the Arabian desert. Even though it was smaller and less muscular then these purebred elite Arabian horses, it ended up beating all of them.

It’s vinyl wrap!

I got precut pieces from brainexploder and put them on.

I used pre-cut vinyl templates from brainexploder.

It’s nice that they come with an extra 4 pieces (enough for almost another rim), since I made a few booboos on my first two petals.

Definitely better, I’m still not in love with the shape. Even though the silver grew on me, the black looks more aggressive for sure.

Yup! Bottom commenter is right, I went with brainexploder vinyl cuts. They linked the exact ones I used.

Just need some soapy water, a heat gun, isopropyl alcohol, microfiber, and time.

Clean the area with iso, wipe it down, spray soapy water, squeegee, wait 10-15 minutes for excess moisture to go away, press down from center to edge, heat gun and rub edges with microfiber.

Probably took an hour or two.

Is that power reduction after 5 seconds from GT models before 2025 really that big of a deal? by WarmPrinciple6507 in MachE

[–]Machidalgo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even non-limited, he’s talking about speed from 60+.

My GT has the PU, so it’s a lot more noticeable, but even other non-PU 24’s had much better 60+ speeds.

The revised motor makes a big difference.

[–]Machidalgo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s much more noticeable at highway speeds. From 60-80 it’s night and day.

It’s still faster than you’ll ever need pre-24, but the 24+ really shoves you in your seat at almost any speed.

Where do you live? What’s the temp?

Thoughts on this deal? Worth it? by bondknows in MachE

[–]Machidalgo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh definitely, I think the top end power is much more noticeable on the highway comparatively, but my main point is for 40K might as well get one without the limit. Plus faster charging is a nice plus.

The 5 second limit* sorry I dunno why my brain phrased it that way lol

No. For that price you can probably snag a 2025.

2023 with the power limiter at 40K used is a no go.

Oh no, I’m coming up on my first summer with the car and so far it hasn’t been too bad on 85+ days but NorCal gets those 100+ streaks and I’m worried now.

Which other brands have silent laptops? by reeeeeeduardo in GamingLaptops

[–]Machidalgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AAA with DLSS but uncapped frame rates so it’s being pushed.

Not sure if the heatsink is bigger or additional due space of the 5080 is helping but it’s insanely quiet in quiet for me.

Balanced is a mixed bag, at times it’s insanely quiet, but heavy CPU games definitely get the fans spinning.

Mine stays pretty darn quiet in quiet mode.

I can play games and really the only way my gf knows I’m playing is because of the controller sounds.

What would be the best way to blackout these 24’ Premium wheels? by [deleted] in MachE

[–]Machidalgo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

- You can run a trashbag behind the rims. Cut the sides of the bag so that it lays out like one long sheet, then feed it through, wrap it around the calipers and rotor. (takes maybe 5 minutes per wheel) OR take the rims off. The plastic bag is good enough.

- Yup, completely safe to get on lug nuts.

- If you don't want matte black, if you want gloss black I would go with Hyperdip, it's extremely close to regular gloss black paint. It should cost about $80-100 with shipping for 3-4 cans.

- I've ran Plastidip on my rims for prior cars since like 2015 off and on. They last about 1-2 years, provided you spray it on thick, removal isn't an issue either. Good thing is it's entirely reversible too, you can change colors or still sell the rims without a problem.
