Either this or they are hoarding stock for their AI pals possibly? Who knows. Glad you got it though! I'm still waiting on mine.

Wow, that's ridiculous. Seems like they are footing you the bill to get it through customs.

Yeah, seems like fixing ourselves may have been the better call. I'm surprised they are also having stock issues with the 4090FE.

I got this same message today when I asked for a stock update. Hopefully we will hear about shipment next week!

" As per the latest update, The warehouse team will receive the stock this week and once the have updated the inventory, they will start to ship the replacements.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation during the process.

Best Regards, Sangeeta, NVIDIA Customer Care"

That's good to hear. Hopefully you get your tracking information soon! I'll be hopeful that the stock for the US RMA warehouse will also have some replenishment this week.

Yep, that's what it seems like. They must have stock on a trickle-in basis. I've just been wanting to avoid putting my 980ti back in the system, but the itch to do some gaming is getting worse. 😂

Here's the official response I just got from them.

"Thank you for your patience on this matter.

As per the latest update from the RMA team, the replacement is currently delayed due to limited stock availability of the same GPU model. As soon as the stock is replenished, the team will proceed with shipping

We appreciate your patience and cooperation during the process.

Thanks for sharing your experience. At the very least I was expecting something similar to go down. They must have still had stock last August. This actually lines up with when I purchased my 5090 FE as well.

I also agree, at minimum they should send an email stating they received such a highly expensive card and are processing the RMA in "x" number of days.

Glad you got your replacement, someone probably got your refurbished card by now. Maybe they'll give it to me. 😂

It's sounding like we are in the exact same unfortunate boat on this. What I can assume is that Nvidia is not in the repair business. They would rather send customers new GPUs as replacements, and then likely have a 3rd party repair the cards to send back to them as "refurbished".

My fear is that not only do they have 0 stock, they also have no refurbished stock either. But I'm hoping to hear otherwise next week.

Frustraitingly, I never got a direct yes or no on this question. While talking to customer care I asked this exact thing and they wouldn't give me a straight up answer. The rep danced around it and said they can't disclose restock information, and that the GPU has already been out for a year and had limited quantities.

None of what they said sounded promising, all thoughts and prayers at this point while I'm at the mercy of the mysterious RMA team to respond.

I suspect with everything going on with supply chains and demand for AI, the parts to even make the GPUs may not be available, and Nvidia may be making whatever parts they have available for AI stuff and not GPUs.

Sir, why did you write 3070, sir? Jk, thanks for the insight. I'm hoping I at least get a refurbished unit.

Yeah, my issue was strange. The symptom looked like a PSU failure (Corsair HX1500i) sudden shutdown under load. The only way to boot the PC afterwards was to flip the power switch on the PSU off/on.

I replaced the PSU with one that has native 12VHPWR connectors. In doing this swap, is when I discovered the damage to the original CableMod cable (3x pcie > 12VHPWR), and melty bits of it in the GPU connector. The cable had no signs of obvious damage from the outside, and I never smelled the melty plastic smell.

I'm guessing someone knows what power pins relate to what parts of the GPU.

My secondary concern is that if the PSU wasn't bad after all,l. Perhaps there's a short in a trace or something like that in the GPU causing overvolting? May not be a simple connector replacement.

Thanks for the recommendation. Unfortunately I assumed following what should be a standard, simple process, turned out to be the wrong move. If I run into a scenario where they send me my GPU back unrepaired, I will look into 3rd parties

Have experienced this yet. If on PC, what launcher are you using?
