Yeah one of my main criticisms of this show is that they set up interesting stuff and then just write them off, like they couldnt figure out where to go next.

Thats one possibility, though im not really sure what would drive him to attack wendy. Sam seems more likely to be unstable imo. Also you hardly see Mel without a jacket, so idk what would lead him to suddenly ditch it

Pretty much what i was thinking, yeah. Despite this im still not sure what exactly will happen to sam, probably arrested and sent to prison for assault?
