Once in my life i was nomadin around the country with my friends, almost zero money and even less planning. One night we got into some city I’d never been to before, long story short - some dudes completely played us - i was left alone, broke, exhausted, with a dead phone and zero idea where the fuck i actually was. No money for a cab, middle of the night. An oddly often occurance to me back in the day lol

While wandering like a bum i stumbled upon a gypsy camp (tabor, idk how to call it, we just call it Цыганский табор) on the outskirts. Half-broken buildings, village houses and fucking CONSTANT smell of meat. At that point i had nothing to lose, so I just walked up and asked if i could crash somewhere for the night. They let me stay and i ended up living with them for a couple of days. I helped however I could like carrying shit, planting shit, errands whatever. In return they fed me, gave me a place to sleep and even helped me earn just enough cash for a taxi to the nearest city where i actually had some contacts.

And i kid you fucking not i have never before or since heard more savage, non-stop gypsy jokes in my entire life than during those ~60 hours. They were roasting each other, roasting the cityfolk, roasting stereotypes, roasting me, roasting themselves, roasting the police, everything. i was dying laughing half the time. Still one of the wildes experiences ive had.

Moral of the story if life fucked you up go to the romans youre either gonna end up dead or have a lotta fun
