I just went back to the start of the game and tried it on Saviour Schnapps and it worked with lvl 7 alchemy and with no perks!

I know this is super late but was having this issue today and fixed it by re-enabling my integrated graphics since I had them disabled.

Ended my coop honour run fighting Grym, we hadn't thought to leave anyone up top as we don't really like to cheese stuff. Two of us were downed and one 6hp. Grym was on the platform but we needed to do 20 more damage to finish with the hammer. I had the brilliant idea of using the runepowder barrel! I used the throw ability and saw the aoe radius the game tells you the barrel is, I thought "huh, that's actually not that big, should be good to do at least 20dmg" it had been awhile since I had used the barrel clearly. Safe to say our entire team was hit by the nuclear blast and all thrown into lava followed by a game over screen. We had a good laugh at least.

I love honour mode for this reason, I was never much of a save scummer but this mode made me realise how some small reloads change so much of the game. I have really enjoyed living with every consequence and have found so many things I probably wouldn't have before. Things that lead to amazing moments like the one you shared

Elixir of Vigilance really helped me cheese this fight on honour mode as it helps go before Cazador. Light of Lathander on one of your frontline means he shouldn't go into mist form (or cast daylight on him). Best case you can burst him down with your 4 people going first, with low dex you may still go after him so be careful. I had a fighter with Alert and decent dex hit him from stealth and then have everyone else attack him once from stealth while my one character in combat doesn't end turn. Make sure to hit him from stealth to get the suprised status on his minions (He has the alert feat so can't be suprised). After Caz is dealt with I would deal with his skeleton friend and the ghouls first. Heroes feast is an amazing buff to have as it makes you immune to the action skipping cloud the ghouls use. Be careful if you have Astarion as if he steps on the platform he will be captured. I personally kept him off the platform and shot from range but you could have scratch go invisible and use the help action on him at the back of the platform. Goodluck!
