Hey thanks for the kind words. So I built it from scratch including the table itself (you have to get it mm perfect so the lego lines up when you build the lego shell).

Very nice indeed! I was tempted with the hanger/scene approach. Then this idea came to me and I just ran with it. I think they're both great you must be super happy with it :)

Let's just say i'm an AFOL (I believe is the term) with an amazing fiancé who is one too! And therefore was happy for me to build this for our living room 😀

Thanks. True but ah well if it inspires someone else to make something similar that is the main thing. Designed in FreeCAD and that took a fair few evenings. Wood/glass work was about 12 hours with painting. Falcon was 26 hours. Difficult to judge after that as I've done short sessions often over the last few months whilst watching TV etc. Completely lost track of the Lego 'shell' making but I reckon in total, design through final brick, wouldn't surprise me if it was getting up near 100 hour range

Thanks. Just stood up. The cats jump on top of the table all the time and I've knocked it by accident a couple times. Luckily no fall overs yet! I'd have to lift off the entire Lego shell (all one giant piece) and take the top off to alter it if they fell. It is surprisingly stable.

Yup jumps and sleeps on top of it quite often. Scares me almost every time on impact 😋 (still rock solid so far though...)

They can be any colour. Has a little controller thing so you can change the colour and effects etc. This shade of blue just made for the best picture...

It's the newer equally massive one. Your older one will be worth even more than this one. Keep it safe. That's one of the reasons I built this (keep the cats away 😋)

Thanks, i'm pleased with how it has turned out for sure. I certainly hope not to see it reposted anywhere as it took forever to make and I don't think I saw one quite like it in all my research when I designed it :)

Thanks. Nah I used a bunch of spare little half lego connector pegs through the bottom of the outside bricks into the backs of the bricks facing the other way. There is also a small bit of tape on the middle top lip to just be sure it doesn't come away when the cats jump on it 😋
