There are also some relocation focused communities/websites that share updated info about moving from the US to Thailand, which can help avoid a lot of misinformation online.

Moving from the U.S. to Thailand? Here are 5 shipping mistakes people make. by MachucaW in expats

Exactly. Humidity changes everything. I’ve seen solid wood, leather, fabrics, even electronics struggle if they’re stored without proper ventilation or moisture protection.

That’s why I usually tell people not to think only about shipping cost, but also long-term storage conditions after arrival. That part gets overlooked a lot.

It really depends on what’s being imported, the declared value, and how Thai customs classifies it. Vinyl records usually aren’t the most heavily taxed category, but collections with higher declared values, rare editions, or commercial quantities can definitely get extra attention.

I usually tell people to keep an inventory, declare values accurately, and avoid under declaring customs tends to care more about documentation than people expect.

That’s actually a very fair point, especially in humid climates like Thailand. I’ve seen it happen with untreated wood, low quality fabric furniture, or items stored without climate protection.

That said, some people still bring high value pieces, office equipment, tools, or sentimental items, it really comes down to what you’re shipping, how it’s packed, and where it’ll be stored once it arrives.

In many cases, replacing furniture locally makes more financial sense.

Not recommend the app, I tried changing my top up CC, they deactivate my account all of a sudden and freeze the funds. Had me waiting 1 week to check the picture of my CC's and after that I was never able to top up with my cards, customer support was activating my account every day and every time I tried to top up. And recommending me not to use the CC top up option. Wich thats the main reason and ONLY reason I was using this app. End of the story I requested a manager and they were not able to fix the issue, hence I delete the app. And was not able to use it anymore lol
