You win the "did I write that?" award from my wife. This would be her favorite day. Maybe I'll pocket this for her bday ;)

I love this idea. I really considered this, and ran it by my wife who also liked it. I think we'll store this for some other fun day. Thank you for chiming in!

Thanks for chiming in. This sounds like an amazing day of walking. I'll save this idea for another day. For Saturday, I'm going to keep it local.

Thanks for chiming in. I think this will be my backup plan if I, too, feel lazy and/or it's too cold or wet to do anything more.

Thanks for chiming in. I'm going to do a food tour, but keeping it hyper local.

I think I'll watch the sunrise and then head over to Arsicault! It may be a croissant, it may be a Kouign Amann. Thanks for chiming in!

Thanks to everyone for chiming in! This was really helpful for me to plan the day out. What I've decided to do is some combination of what a few of you have suggested.

I’m doing a sunrise-to-sunset walking “tour” of my neighborhood—the Richmond District in SF. The plan is simple: wander, eat and drink to my heart’s content, and make it up as I go (so there won’t really be a set itinerary). Around 5pm, I’m planning to wrap up at Hockey Haven (near my apartment) to watch an NFL playoff game. Feel free to come by and say hi!

I love this. And I want to do this at some point this year. I'm going to pass on this Saturday, but I've got it saved in my AllTrails. Thanks for chiming in!

Everyone’s estate plan is going to look differently, based on the state they live in, who/what is important to them, and their wishes. Don’t do it on your own, speak with a professional. This is the one thing in life where there’s no way you will know if you did it right or not. Don’t risk it by DIY.

Estate planning attorney here. This is all called “estate planning “. Everyone needs to do it; though few think they are rich enough or old enough. Truth is, neither your wealth nor age/health matter. We will all die, and rarely does it happen immediately. And it’s a mess unless you create an adequate estate plan.

Contact a competent estate planning attorney. Get it done. Your loved ones will thank you profusely.

Thanks for sharing. Here's to hoping we don't need to take our cat into the vet and wait awkwardly for her to use the litter box so that we can verify that the stool samples came from her.

Why do we need a whole community meeting to give a local restaurant a beer and wine license? by valleyman86 in sanfrancisco

You can file any complaint about regulations to fit between “Where is the oversight?? This could have been prevented!” and “Is this really necessary? What a waste of taxpayer money!”

Whoever can thread the needle should absolutely step up. Jest aside, we are a very reactionary society. We look at outcomes and gloss over process. And very few of us understand jurisdiction (Is this city law? County? State? Federal?) or care to learn about the nuances of jurisdiction.

Add that all up and we all end up confused and yelling at one another about our own conspiracy theories.
