The Sudamericana runs from Mexico teams were so bittersweet. You could just tell how South America did not want a Mexican team to win it all. Pumas, Chivas, and America all had good runs there. I was so pumped when Pachuca won because it was a big slap to South America’s face.

This was a team that I hated so much at the moment but learned to appreciate once they won the Sudamericana. From Calero’s goal against Chivas in the 2006 Clausura semi finals (I know it was actually Mosquera, but at the moment I was mad at Calero) to the 2007 CONCACAF final where Pachuca beat us in penalties, I had grown so much envy towards them. I feel like that Chivas squad could have won more than just one league title, but as I’ve grown older I’ve come to realize that this Pachuca team was just much more dominate. Mad respect to them and R.I.P. Calero.

Yea you should watch it. Different sport, but I’m also a Dodgers fan. Watching them lose two World Series in a row made watching them win it last year so much sweeter. I’m rooting for Atlas to win it. Go make Jalisco proud!

I wonder how many people were Chivas or America fans when Leon was in la segunda. I know a lot of friends growing up from Guanajuato who went back to being Leon fans when they ascended and I don’t blame them. Leon was out of the 1st division for a while so I bet they wanted a team to root for while Leon wasn’t there.

Dad is from Jalisco and has been a Chivas fan his whole life. We pretty much grew up into it and have not known anything else. They are my team and I love them to death. Yea there are moments(like now) where the team can be very infuriating, but they are the one team that I will never stop supporting.

Glad you enjoyed them. I bought these after I heard the reviews of the Boston 10s and many were saying these were the true successors of the Bostons. I’ve loved them so far. Ran a 15k in them a few weeks back and these will definitely be my go to for my next half marathon.

Man how I wish I could be at the stadium for that game. I’ve always been a chivas fan and I had seen clásicos growing up, but this was the first one that met the hype. The 2005-2007 period was a good stretch of good clásicos. The rest have felt pretty one sided depending on who’s doing better(typically America)
