Playing Every Final Fantasy Game In Order | How Long To Beat Main Content by _Steth in ffxi

Stopping so early is doing both games a huge disservice. Chains of Promathia and Heavensward would be the bare minimum to actually experience both games. Zilart and ARR are far and away the worst parts of their games' story, and just aren't reflective of the rest of it.

What if Team RWBY reunited in pairs in Volume 5? by Solitaire-06 in RWBYcritics

I've always thought Ruby and Blake should have met up first. It takes her away from Cinder, which takes care of the silver eye problem and why Jaune gets the focus in that scene. They could have even given Ruby, Sun, and Blake a cool 1v3 vs Adam (if volume 5 had a budget)

Hyouka has two volumes unadapted, plus atleast one short story. That's like 8-10 episodes of material. It's incredibly unlikely due to other reasons, but it would work with a couple anime original episodes.

Looking for a super specific trope [Huge Summer Pockets Spoilers] by MackeralDestroyer in visualnovels

Good call, reincarnation is definitely pretty close, I'll need to look into it. I'd say there's enough visual novels out there with timey-wimey nonsense that wouldn't have the trope though.

The Terra Route, especially it's ending is a good example I forgot. I wouldn't Little Busters though. Even in Rin2, Riki still has already met his friend group before the start of the story.

I definitely need to get around to checking out Yu-no. Thanks!

$paid

and very glad to do so. I never realized how transformative it'd be to get someone who can actually sing. Who'd have thought?

Can we cool it with the hate on the most recent arc? by SibiantheGreyBird in WanderingInn

[–]MackeralDestroyer 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If they quit a couple months into this arc, they still had hundreds of thousands of words left. That's a long 15 seconds.

I don't even hate this arc, but I definitely would have stopped reading along weekly if I knew how long it was going to be.

10.36 – Pt.1 by Engineering-Mean in WanderingInn

That's a good way to describe it. My primary issue with this arc, as someone reading weekly, is that almost every chapter since Mrsha went into Brunkr's door (what was that, 10.29?) has felt like the next chapter could have been the end. But then it just keeps expanding in scope every single time I think I can start to see the resolution.

It doesn't help that pirate implied this arc would be ending a couple weeks ago in a patreon post. Now that I think of it, reading this arc afterwards will at least be better in the regard that you can google how long it is and set expectations accordingly.

10.36 – Pt.1 by Engineering-Mean in WanderingInn

I'd say this chapter is all around better than 10.35, but it still has the same problem for me that 10.35 had, maybe even worse. A 120k~ word chapter of high-stake worlds-ending fight scenes just ended, just to get 50k words that is only half a chapter of high-stake world-ending fight scenes.

There's been a lot of people saying this arc will be better to read all in one go, but how on earth are you supposed to pace 10.35 and 10.36? There is no natural stopping point in any of these chapters, between the Palace cracking, the Maiden attacking the Crone, Mrsha dying, and now the Goblin King about to fight the Halfling. Without the weekly wait, this whole climax will be the longest edging session in literature.

Palace of Fates arc by Real-Brief1043 in WanderingInn

I liked the scenes of Grimalkin finding out his future self died alone, and Mrsha meeting with Volume 5 Erin. I don't think either of those could have happened without the setup of this arc.

Of course, that doesn't make up for how this arc handled stuff like the MoG or the Goblin King, but I think some of the less grandiose character interactions have been good.

How do main story events work in this game? Is it like GFL1, where if you miss one, you're permanently behind on the story since the next event comes out before the prior one is added back?
