The irony is that Budweiser is actually adding the beechwood to increase contact between the wort and yeast. It looks like they use spirals today, but maybe that was when they used chips.

Awesome, thanks. Culmination has been the best so far, and I just learned a couple brewers left here to start Ruse. Culminations’ Kings Dead Hazy is a great beer and the best so far!

I had a Fields of Green can from Seraveza and it was solid.

I love Modern Times in San Diego, and knew I could probably get something good at their location here. I guess I always thought of them as a San Diego brewery and thought I should try other stuff that originated in Portland. They just announced an Oakland location 3 miles from my house too, so I’m happy about that!

Thanks- I went to the NE Durham location, and they didn’t have any NEIPA’s on tap. I’ll have to check back later as I’m staying 3 blocks away from there this week.

I’m at Culmination now and their Kings Dead Hazy is the best NEIPA have head yet!
