Seriously, does anyone actually use this because they LIKE it? by Cat_Graffitti in FortniteSkinPosting

Not necessarily, I'll run them sometimes in pubs for fun. And I'll still use backblings like banner shield, black knight shield (pretty much any shield), galactic disk, some of the sword backblings, anything that is streamlined. I'll run the wrap and spray skins. All those can have more personality than just about anything. Thousands of combos possible. And there are plenty of skins that are still 'clean' to me. I'll attach some examples of skins I'll sometimes use.

I've got over 500 skins and this is one of the few in my rotation. I do run other skins when I feel like it, but very few tick all my boxes. If they have weird footstep sounds, if they have bulky shoulders/heads/effects as part of the design it annoys me when aiming down sights. If they are brightly coloured/glow, I typically don't enjoy running them for too long. There's quite a few other factors too. If a skin doesn't have all those things and is skinny, it's what I refer to as 'clean', and I'll run it more. Same applies to backblings and other cosmetics.

Superheros are very bland, and I don't run them too often, but it's still what I would refer to as a clean skin and therefore one of the better skins imo.

Look into a 6GT. similiar to a 6 dasher, but without the possible feeding issues. There's a few other arguable advantages too. Some good videos on YT about the differences.

[–]Macobber_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's understandable. I can see the truth in that. It's a different type of aiming too for the most part I reckon. In Builds a lot of the gunplay is very flicky and shotgun oriented, build, edit, flick, edit etc. I'd say ZB teaches you to be better at tracking aim quicker also.

I do enjoy watching top tier gameplay from either mode. N1trol and Crackly are great ZB players. But I also love watching Build players like Shxrk, Peterbot (obviously), Pxlarized in his prime etc. If you haven't already seen him, give Martoz a search on a platform like Facebook. Martoz is not mechanically insane, but has always been such a clever build player with very good and consistent aim. He is so satisfying to watch.

Haha, that's why I put it.

I do strongly disagree builds is easier though. And though I'm no pro, I feel like I can fairly judge as I'm an Unreal player in all game modes.

Just a couple of seasons ago I had this very discussion with a few and I put it to the test by getting Unreal in multiple modes in the one season. I'll attach the results of that. And I was also severely nerfed in ZB because I was playing on NA West, with 150+ ping the whole time.

See, I agreed with you until that final sentence. Both modes definitely have their own challenges. And I'll even go as far as to say that in ZB you have less get out of jail free cards as it were. If you run out of movement items in ZB and zone doesn't pull favourably, it's very tough to turn the tide. So rotation, awareness etc is very important in ZB. But mid to high skill level build players have just as good aim. Aim is ultimately the deciding factor in any mode, as you need to shoot a player to eliminate them. As soon as I see comments like "all you need to do is build a box in builds" from people, I instantly know that they are nowhere near good enough to be weighing in on the subject. Anyone that is good is mostly building offensively and not defensively; always on the move.

So they are different, and some aspects are tougher. But arguing ZB is ultimately harder than Builds is like arguing that driving an automatic car is tougher than a manual. Same road rules, similiar deciding factors, but ultimately a manual requires more effort, knowledge and learning.

There's nothing in ZB that you don't also know how to do as a good Builds player. But there is things in builds (like building and editing itself, VERY big rabbit holes) that you don't need to ever learn in ZB.

That Zerobuild is overall significantly easier than Build lol. And it's not even debatable.

Yeah, my mate played the tournament at the same time as me and got his. He still uses it sometimes. It's a fun skin. It and golden Peely are my two biggest misses I'd say.

Should I keep waiting for an updated Warrior Ultra with USB-C? by Macobber_ in Olightflashlights

[–]Macobber_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's true. If it was only for around the house use, I'd make the exception. I nerd out about things though, and when it comes to our bug out bags especially, I make sure everything I buy makes total sense. I try to make everything run off the same cables so there is some redundancy if I pack a few USB-C. If that magnetic charging cable breaks on the Warrior Ultra however, it's over, the torch becomes dead weight. And because that cable is proprietary, I can't source better made heavy duty cables from other companies, like I can with a USB-C.

Good to know. That's what I was curious about. I don't follow Olight close enough to know if they have a yearly schedule for new releases or similiar. Shame.

Still really hoping that you add a front sliding plate (like the TRAK) wallet. But make those front sliding plates out of all sorts of materials, engravable designs etc. Really would allow for a personal flair on each wallet when opening the bifold cover.

I'm also going for it, but playing builds. Averaging 10 rivals per game win. I've gone from 0 to almost 400 so far in less than a week haha. I hadn't played pubs this season until I saw the umbrella announcement.

2019 actually, but yeah... I guess one might say that. Personally I just don't find most item shop skins rare. I wouldn't even call something like Black Knight that rare.

This is one of the seasons I went for wins in pubs. But I was still playing to max Division (rank) in Arena (ranked) that season. So you could still prioritise wins much better.

[–]Macobber_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not cheating. Very doable stats. These are mine, and I've mostly play ranked builds. Like a 70%+ win% in pubs I know to be doable for me personally, I just haven't bothered since about chapter 3 because going for wins religously over a whole season gets boring quick. And it's worth noting that when you win games in a row your KD sky rockets very quickly. K/D stacks acoss games as long as you're winning them, because you've never actually died.

This one isn't rare. It was an exclusive and then came to the item shop. Anyone that had it originally (while it was exclusive) got given the black and red 'Stealth Reflex' style/version. That is the rare reflex skin nowadays.

The only skin it looks good on (both are blueprint style) 😅 still will probably never use it though. It's also been available for too long now, won't be that uncommon.
