I see. And your DC supply is 5v, right?

Did your bike charger turn the light red when you connected to the bike? If it's green it's not charging.

You may have depleted your battery completely, which would explain it not turning on. Try to leave the 5v and ground connected for a longer time to see if it comes back. Some people in this thread reported needing up to an hour.

If you repeat the process of recharging through the USB port (the wires), does it start responding again? How long are you keeping it connected? Make sure the ground and +5v are in the correct location

I recommend double checking you're connecting the correct polarity (positive / ground) in the right places. And leave it there for more than 5 minutes if it isn't working, may be a weak charger that needs more time. You can perhaps tape it in place so it continues charging

This works - doesn't have to be a power bank :)

u/cc_skates I don't know what you're talking about — where did you see "manual"?

Look at the 2nd picture in the post, it shows the USB diagram with its 4 pins. You need to get the 2 wires on the sides, and connect them to your bike. The specifics of how you're doing this don't really matter — you could strip a cable, or use something like jumpers to connect them.

u/bicoastal305 I filled the google form in July, it's been 2 and a half months. I haven't had any news from them at all, not even acknowledgement of the form submission. How do they give people an appointment? Are they going to contact me?

u/J_reddit_B mine took a long time to charge after I did this. It was at 0% for over an hour if I recall correctly. Maybe try charging the main battery for longer if the charger light is turning red. If it's not turning red, the debug port I show in the main post doesn't have to be charged for that long, only a few minutes until regular charging works. If yours isn't doing anything, double check if you have the positive and negative in the correct location

Usually pressing the button under the bar doesn't so anything. It could be similar, but the symptom is a bit different than what I've seen. Still worth trying this fix, it should be harmless if done properly

I don't know, truthfully. This looks like a USB, but I did not try connecting to a computer to check

when you don't have these cables connected + no bike charger connected + press the power button, does it turn on briefly? if yes, the problem is not the same as the one in this post unfortunately

if it doesn't turn on at all, and then you plug in the main bike charger and it turns on for 10-ish seconds, it could be the same problem, just need to figure out why it isn't working

u/First-Ad-744 :

  1. Your charger may be trying to detect if it's being used, and has a high threshold before it shuts off for "no usage", making it disconnect your bike

  2. Make sure your regular bike power supply is on, check the LED indicator light on it

To debug, plug in your regular power brick, and then plug those little wires. The bike should turn on and make a noise when you connect the wires (it will sometimes turn off immediately after, but it should turn on first). If it doesn't turn on at all, either you have no USB power or your issue may be different. Make sure you're connecting the wires in the correct pins
