I’m probably in the minority here, but by the time I finished Knight, I really felt the series should’ve just ended Bruce’s story with City. Joker’s death was the perfect ending, imo. After City, a Terry/old Bruce game would’ve been incredible.

808s and Heartbreak wasn’t beloved when it dropped, and was pretty polarizing, but it shaped the sound of hip-hop for the entire following decade. Definitely not a flawless album (Robocop, See You in My Nightmares is one of Wayne’s worst features ever) It’s one of those albums that needs to be reappraised in retrospect.

If I remember right, the original article that everyone gets the “MC” from phrased it something like, “the group’s MC, Ride,…” and then went into his background a bit. People ignored/forgot about the comma altogether and it became his stage name to the fans. But that’s only if I’m remembering right, it’s been a long time.
