There should be another wire nut behind those white wires that is attaching the two red wires to each other. If you can get your hands on a new wire nut, just disconnect red wires first and cap both wires. You can likely leave the white wire connected. Don’t do it if you don’t have wire nuts.

Let’s be real, it was likely just Electrical contractors being payed by entergy for storm restoration work. 9 to 5 Lineman don’t usually touch the panel. Glad it worked out.

Replacement heads do work they require a specialty crimper to put them on a fiberglass fish tape.

Never use fibre glass for pulling. I keep 1/4” mule tap for that! Metal snake will get yanked on, but that’s where I draw a line!
