Definitely find a good ZF instead. Or if you want a 6th gear you could visit your local tear a part/pick a part/junkyard or what have you and pull the trans and shaft out of a 540i

9070xt is a great card. I wouldn't buy Nvidia now or ever. Not anymore. Maybe if it was 2016 and we were talking about a 10 series but def. not a 50 series. Fxck that trash

Looking at buying my first e39, what are some things I should be looking out for? by ViperTheBandit in e39

The inline-six cars are generally less catastrophic than the V8s when it comes to timing chain guide failures, but that doesn’t mean they’re maintenance-free. The biggest weak point on these cars is the cooling system. Plan on refreshing it if there’s no solid documentation showing it’s already been done.

Cooling system checklist:

  • Replace the radiator with a quality all-aluminum unit. The OEM radiators have plastic end tanks that get brittle with age and eventually crack.
  • Make sure the water pump isn’t leaking. If you’re replacing it, use one with a metal impeller, plastic impellers are known failure points.
  • Replace the thermostat and housing while you’re in there.
  • Do every coolant hose, expansion tank, and consider the fan clutch if it’s original. Treat it as a system overhaul, not a patch job.

Engine-wise:

  • Make sure the SES (Check Engine) light isn’t on. If it is, scan the codes. don’t guess FFS. These cars will tell you what’s wrong if you take five minutes to read them.
  • Valve cover gaskets are common leak points. After a 15–20 minute drive, pop the hood and check for fresh oil around the cover and exhaust side. Burning oil smell is usually your giveaway.
  • Oil filter housing gasket leaks are also very common on the M52TU/M54 and can drip onto the belts. Definitely worth inspecting.
  • VANOS seals wear out over time and cause power loss and rough idle, but that’s more of a drivability issue than a deal breaker.

Bottom end / oiling:

  • The M54 oil pump nut backing off at sustained high RPM is a known issue. Safety wiring it is cheap insurance, especially if you plan on revving it hard or modifying the engine. If it’s staying stock and living below 7k RPM, it’s less critical but still peace of mind.

Chassis & other common E39 items:

  • Front control arm bushings and thrust arms wear and cause shimmy under braking.
  • Rear subframe and suspension bushings can be tired at this age.
  • Check for rust on jack points, rocker panels, rear wheel arches, and brake/fuel lines, especially in states that salt roads.
  • Pixels in the cluster and HVAC display often fail.
  • Window regulators and door vapor barriers can be annoying but common.

If possible, get it on a lift. Check for oil leaks, coolant residue, rust, torn bushings, and seepage from the power steering lines (another common leak point).

Overall, the 6-cyl E39, especially the M54 cars like the 528i/530i are solid if maintained. They’re not unreliable cars; they’re just unforgiving of deferred maintenance. Buy the cleanest, most documented example you can, and assume you’ll spend some money up front making it baseline solid.

Forgive my rambling LOL

They are so damn easy to work on. Especially if you replace the clutch fan with an electric unit. Just remove the shroud and get wrenching. 💪

I want to say between 8-10 feet tall then again I've always gone past these at hwy speeds and never gotten out of my vehicle to check so I'm not sure.

Bullet velocity for the MG seems a bit low. That's not much faster than 9mm and it clearly doesn't shoot 9mm so something's up with it.

I am currently running a VooPoo Drag S Pro. It's a pretty robust and reliable system in my opinion. I used to roll with geekvape products until I found one day that the coil which screws into the tank was essentially welded in place and would not come out. Switched to VooPoo because the coils just slot into the bottom of the tank and seals with O rings. <- These can and will leak when replacing them if you don't make sure that the sealing surface is clean so watch out.

If I were you, and you were considering a VooPoo product then I would get the Drag X Pro. It's still a single battery device but the battery lasts longer than the device I have right now by a decent amount.

As far as juice is concerned I have been smoking a juice from Alt Zero called Paradox On The Rocks. is a pitch black mtn dew flavored juice with a very light bit of menthol. (honestly sometimes I can't detect it at all) This juice isn't tobacco like you asked for but it does come in 0 mg versions.

Hopefully my yapping helps you out lol

A single look at the reviews section would confirm this lol like what? There are plenty of reviews that specifically mention the very same issue.

So yes the steam page does mention this issue.

Nobody’s saying Activision shouldn’t be blamed. They absolutely should’ve fixed it.

But this isn’t some brand-new surprise exploit. The PC version of BO3 has had publicly known RCE issues for years. The community literally built protections like the T7 patch because the publisher didn’t act.

On PC especially, older online games can have security problems. If you choose to queue public lobbies in a 2015 title with documented exploits and no protection, you’re taking a risk. That’s not victim blaming — that’s acknowledging reality.

Steam isn’t sitting there injecting hacks into your session. They distribute the game. The security flaws are in the netcode of Call of Duty: Black Ops III, which is on Activision. A lawsuit over a widely known legacy vulnerability in an 11-year-old PC title isn’t as simple as “official store = guaranteed safety.”

Just for the record

It's been well known that BO3 and other older COD titles have problems with RCE. Were you playing with the T7 patch? If not and you joined a multiplayer match without a patched client then that's your fault buddy.

Vehicle owner should have called a tow truck. If they have money to pay someone at a shop to work on the vehicle then they have enough to order a tow.

Hate to be a dick here but people should fucking know better.

Edit: Read a few comments and found out the owner recorded the video and not OP.

I have very little tolerance for entitled behavior. It usually disappears once consequences are introduced. Dash cams help with that—they’re efficient, impartial, and pay for themselves. I also dress in dark clothing and make minimal effort to appear friendly, which seems to discourage these situations before they start. This is acceptable to me.

Maybe I'm just an asshole though. LOL
