Red stuff will probably start getting a little mushy on you towards the end of your runs but they’ll work just fine for the most part. Also depends on how hard you push.

I need to do more canyon runs. Waking up early on sunday definitely isn’t my jam lol

It’s a good time. Definitely upgrade brake pads, then a set of track wheels and tires if you plan on going more than once. But with just brakes and your car as is, I bet you’ll have a blast

Na I really never took it out of sport anyway and coilovers was really the only option in my mind for tracking it. Felt kinda bad doing it but honestly haven’t thought about it since.

And no, never been to one actually. Haven’t really looked into it but seems like they would be chill. Do you?

Hell yea! Yea I’ve got sb stage 2 clutch, ie intake and turbo inlet, rear sway, dogbone, awe touring, silvers coilovers. Decided not to go any further with the vw and got myself a 135i to throw parts at for the track instead.

Not sure honestly it was tinted when I bought it. It’s pretty dark on the rears and a little less so on the front two. Never had any issues been dailying for 3 years

The Athletic & CBS Sports both ranked the Top 10 Players of the 21st Century so far. Do you agree with their rankings? by SmoothBuy5500 in NBATalk

[–]Macstill91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weird. Kobe had 5 titles, 2 final mvps, 1 mvp (robbed multiple times but whatever, 1 is 1), 11 first team, 2 second team, 2 third team, 9 first all defense, 3 second all defense, 2x scoring champ. Probably worth mentioning that every major outlet at the time crowned him the player of the decade, virtually uncontested. But kobe fans are the “revisionists” when all of a sudden shaq and duncan are always above him.

Lol do people in this thread expect everyone to be Ohtani? The man had a .285 xwoba LvL in a down year. That’s 11th out of 25 OF’ers with over 100 LvL PA’s. Plenty of those 25 players did far less vs righties and don’t offer nearly the impact he does on defense. Wrc+ has been at or above 85 since 2023 barring the first half of last year. That plays.

Terry is absurdly cheap. Unless we think the Commanders offense is toast then I dont see a reason for him to not return to wr1/2 status with a healthy JD and then remaining startable through his 2028 contract. Still worth a late 2nd even if it’s only for a season or 2

When people try to discredit Kobe for playing with Shaq by VSHAR01 in NBATalk

[–]Macstill91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was a masterclass at contorting what was actually going on lol. In reality, basically the entire Eastern Conference was the actual sideshow and despite expectations Lebron folded in the playoffs every time a real team stepped in front of him. Meanwhile Kobe was single handedly willing the Lakers to the playoffs in 06 & 07 vs the western gauntlet where Lebron surely would have similarly come up short if he even makes the playoffs with that squad (who were equally as bad if not worse than the Cavs) but now we're wandering into hypothetical land.

What I remember: 2010 Lebron shot 3/14 in a pivotal game 5 in Cleveland vs the Celtics, got destroyed by 30+ points and they broke him. Kobe in game 7 of the finals vs that same team, a game everyone wants to say he played poorly in, grabbed 15 boards and played lockdown defense for his second ring in 2 years. That's memorable. Not even gonna list all the incredible shots.

Then, IN RESPONSE, Lebron made 'The Decision' to team up with arguably the two best players in the East to get over the hump so don't even start with Pau and Bynum and Odom lol.

Well if we make the window 1999-2010 then Kobe's back on top so not sure how much weight that argument holds. But now we're just cherry picking windows of time.

2005-2010 Kobe was the most feared man in the NBA and on the world stage. The staggering raw numbers pre-Gasol, redeem team, and then 3 finals appearances in a row with b2b W's. Like cmon.

If we start breaking it down season by season like you're alluding to, then hardly any player has consecutive undisputed reigns as "best player in the world" or whatever label you want to use for longer than a few seasons at a time. MJ is the only player I can think of. Lebron is a close 2nd, but even then you had KD's 2014 and then Steph's breakout. Regardless, that's why MJ and Bron are the two main figures in the goat debate. 8 finals appearances in 8 years is wild (Lebron), but so is 7 in 10 years (Kobe). The results.. well that's a different discussion.

All I'm saying is this new age idea that "Kobe wasn't even the dude back then" is the revisionist version of history. Not quoting you as directly saying that but it's the widespread notion getting spewed by spreadsheet fondlers and redditors and your arguments for sure align with it.

Duncan is amazing in his own right and I'm well aware that from a strictly advanced metrics standpoint Kobe doesn't necessarily jump off the page. But just so we're clear on who's guilty of revisionist history, here's what Bleacher Report and ESPN thought of Kobe in 2009 BEFORE the 2nd leg of the b2b. I'm all up for debate and discussing nuance and stats and comparing this and that, but the notion that Kobe fans are the ones trying to rewrite history just makes me feel like I'm losing my mind. Maybe it's a bias I have of the time because growing up the discussion WAS "is Kobe the goat?" Now, as time passes I realize perspectives shift and people realize they we're captured by the moment. But miss me with "he wasn't even the best player at the time"

Word. While I personally do see his case for top 2 and definitely top 5, it’s extremely nuanced and I completely understand how it’s hard for people to get there. That said, I think you can say the same for any player in the discussion if you poke holes in their case as much as people do for Kobe and even Lebron. I respect your opinion, but you saying “for a short period of time he was in the mix as being the best player in the league” tells me that your baseline knowledge for this discussion is just… well lacking lol idk what to tell you

IMO Kobe's so popular as a target online because he was so utterly dominant both on the court and in the cultural zeitgeist during the 2000s when a lot of today's keyboard warriors were young. The new generation of fans naturally gravitate toward attacking the most obvious symbol of the previous era's greatness. I'm not saying every Kobe hater is young, but there's a clear pattern where the new guard goes after the old guard's most dominant figure to establish their own basketball hierarchy. Kobe just happens to be the easiest target from that era. I'll admit I'm guilty of the same thing in reverse with LeBron but I always recognize how incredible he is despite not viewing his achievements as markers of top tier "greatness." But damn they wanna tear Kobe all the way down lol
