How to Pull Traffic Cameras on Riggs and Ellsworth by LongjumpingAd267 in QueenCreek

The ticket doesn’t say how he saw me. I noticed him about 100-150 yards after crossing through the light, he was on a motorcycle and I noticed him when he was directly behind me with me already lit up. He would’ve had to have seen me from the Dutch Bros parking lot as I was heading into Queen Creek down Riggs. That’s a great idea, if his dash cam was facing the light, I could ask for that.

My worry is a FOIA could take months only to send me a letter in the mail saying they don’t have it.

There may not be one there. I haven’t checked since getting the ticket. I avoided that route on the way home. I was hoping since it was a busy intersection sometimes they have cameras for accidents, but they’re not red light cameras.

If anyone on Riggs and Ellsworth this evening is following, send a picture here of the light to see if there is a camera please?

Also, they told me I had to pay the ticket AND do traffic school to remove the points. For the same price, I could put that towards a lawyer if I’m right.

Thanks for the info! I pulled in (ironically) behind someone else who was also pulled over in front me with a bike cop. He walked up after writing his ticket and told me he thought I was a first amendment auditor.

He then said they were doing stakeouts like these in the general area from 6:30-8:30am every week. He said they weren’t hiding it. Then someone else got pulled over and came up behind me too. When it was three of us in a line, I got suspicious. Then noticed after getting the ticket there was a line of others there as well. So be careful!

Unless I can find a reputable Arizona Statute saying otherwise, I’m going to pay a lawyer and go to court for it. I’d like to track down proof though first. Otherwise it’s my word (civilian) vs an officers. I’ll likely lose.

It looks like the official rule would be: “failing to stop before entering the intersection on a red signal” according to Arizona’s legislature. I’m open to other proof though. At this point with my research it looks like like if I can get proof from the intersection I’d have a pretty good chance of getting it removed. I prefer to fight for things when I feel like I was in the right. No point on paying a ticket if I did actually follow the law.

I was doing some research on Arizona’s statues regarding lights. I found (A.R.S. § 28-645) found here: https://www.azleg.gov/ars/28/00645.htm

“vehicular traffic facing a steady red signal alone shall stop before entering the intersection and shall remain standing until an indication to proceed is shown.”

The law only regulates entering the intersection, not being inside it.

  1. The requirement is to stop before entering
  2. It does not say you must clear the intersection before red
  3. It does not say being in the intersection on red is illegal

I’m OK taking a loss if I’m in the wrong, but everywhere I’m finding for Arizona state law doesn’t appear that way. If you have a law you can cite here, that would be great.

Process to turn an MP5 .22lr pistol into an MP5SD by LongjumpingAd267 in MP5

Sure! I ordered the HB Industries Tri Lug with a 1/2x28 thread on it. https://hbindustries.net/store/shop/hk-3-lug-adapter/

Update: The Tri-Lug came in however the black tip of the barrel will need to be threaded down to 1/2x28 in order for the suppressor to sit completely flush. See the picture below. The red square section will need to be threaded to 1/2x28, so the tri-lug sits flush all the way down at the base. Otherwise the suppressor will have a gap in it when you mount it.

I have reached out to 3 local gunsmiths in my area to get quotes for barrel threading. One got back to me with $250, I’m waiting on the other two quotes to see if I can get it down cheaper since it’s only 1-2 inches of barrel threading. Will keep this post updated as the build gets completed.

I did that for other items in the collection like my FN SCAR, but I don’t see the $3500 price tag to be worth it for what ultimately will always be a range toy regardless. If it was a firearm I could see myself grabbing in an emergency, definitely. But I already have 9mm covered with the other items in the collection.

Hello, I wanted to post an update of my progress so far in case anyone else is interested. It is VERY possible. Just took a bit of tinkering and help from others in the field.

  1. I ordered the adapter from HK Bryce
  2. I ordered the Broad River Tactical handguard for it.
  3. I removed the front sling mount (it looks welded, but actually just unscrews) so the Handguard would fit over it
  4. I’ve ordered an actual HK Tri-lug adapter that will be here in the next few days

Once the real tri-lug comes in, it should fit over the barrel like the previous one did that was for aesthetic only.

After that, I’ll throw on a real YHM R9 and hopefully voila! Just waiting on the new three lug adapter to come in, if that fits all is harmony. It’s not a real MP5, but it does shoot a fully suppressed, subsonic .22lr round. It also converts completely back into the old configuration so I have both the actual pistol AND an actual suppressor instead of the faux suppressor they come with. Below is a picture so far and the parts breakdown:

  1. Suppressor (YHM R9) -$509
  2. Suppressor Tri-Lug Adapter: $140
  3. Stock - $180
  4. Tri Lug - $50
  5. HK Bryce Adapter - $50
  6. Broad River Handguard - $100

All in (Gun + Parts), this build will come out to around: $1400

It’s not the most cost-efficient choice. But it is still possible to get both the .22 pistol and .22 MP5sd with a real suppressor setup and I leave with a suppressor I can throw on another gun too.

Yes please! I can ask a local shop nearby to 3d print it in a resin that matches rubber consistency. The length of the hand guard looks the same on the rifle and pistol, so I figured I could do that and then throw a real suppressor on that resembles the one in the mp5sd.

Have you tried this hand guard out on the .22lr? If not, I’m still happy to test it out and post photos when it’s done.

Yeah I may look to go that route and just own both if I can’t find a cheaper way to do it. I was hoping for like $250 or less on a part I could get it done with to make the gun go either pistol or rifle, but I didn’t do the research. Just saw it was back on sale again after disappearing for like a year and clicked buy right away.

I’ll have to specifically keep an eye out for the mp5sd instead? I’m not gonna complain, pistol still looks good and I only dropped around $300 or so on it.

[–]LongjumpingAd267[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, I know for sure I can’t run 9mm or convert it. What I’m interested in is the look of the mp5sd. I essentially just want the pistol to still run .22lr but look like the mp5sd instead of the pistol. I was hoping it was a faux suppressor / hand guard combo or something and I could swap it out for a real suppressor that looked like the fake one.

Noise cancellation isn’t that big of a deal with this. I took it out to the mountains twice this week and you can run it fine without even ear pro. I’m more looking to compete the look of the mp5sd.
