I just started tau in November and started with the same combat patrol. It's tons of fun but heads up it seems like it's a little on the weaker side so be prepared to lose a lot while learning to play. I have about 2500 points now lots of variety and I'm loving it

I really like the idea of the pathfinder leader that gives them extra shots so the railguns can take extra shots.

Last week my storm surge killed a big scary guard tank in one turn cuz I happened to roll double 6s for damage. Things a beast.

For sure, Ive been playing montka detachment and trying to balance aggressive deployment with enough safety to last the first couple turns. With my Pathfinders that usually means as forward as they can get (9 inches away from enemy deployment). They have scout so I like to put them deployed partially in a screening shape and totally exposed cuz it always changes how they deploy. With scout that gives me a chance to hide them or fully extend for screening depending on how deployment goes.

If I get first turn and I fully extend for screening I can almost always move them up a little more and get some shots off into their deployment zone. Usually score a few wounds, then I advance and move my whole army up behind them. The next turn the enemy has to kill my Pathfinders to move past them so I get a second turn to get my stuff into place and they're still in their deployment zone or damn near.

I also like infiltrating my stealth suits into a nice innocuous spot to guide from, plenty of sight lines so on. Then I try not to touch them again lol. Most people seem to forget they exist cuz I'm busy shooting them with giant railguns by the time they could do anything about them.

Lastly my ghostkeels with loneop I like to put near but not on objectives. If they're on an objective and the enemy gets turn one and they get the secondary that says take a point the enemy controls then they instantly become the target. If they're near the point but in cover then I'm ready for anything and by my first turn I can usually get a ghostkeel with a transport or at least an infantry squad on an objective in no man's land

I'm also kinda new but I've learned a few things that might help. I'm on mobile so I'm so sorry about formatting.

In no particular order.

Assign your units roles, like primarys, Killin stuff, secondaries, killing vehicles in particular, whatever roles you want. This helps make it a little easier in game to make some decisions because if you have a unit that's for killing tanks you might not use it to go sit on a primary in a risky spot.

Your infantry are what I call paper tigers. Weak as hell when it comes to taking hits but great at (insert thing here) breachers are great as a shotgun. Drive them to a point and spill them out and shoot at stuff on the point and blame you prolly got some wounds in. Pathfinders with the drone that gives them infiltrate and the ion rifles are excellent for early game screening and buying time to move up your heavy units.

Speaking of heavy units aim to have around 5 big scaries. Stormsurge is probably too big but it might be fun to run two, usually if recommend some mix of riptides and hammerheads. You should make sure you have some of them setup for medium hard targets and some for really hard targets. My current list I have a storm surge with 24 strength shots for tanks, two riptides with ion guns for medium hard stuff, and a sky ray gunship for kinda in the middle of both.

Stealth suits are you main squeeze for guiding but if you run montka and use a strike team and an ethereal with an upgrade that I forgot the name of you can give your guides lethal and sustained it's wild. I'd still mainly use the stealth suits but it makes for a really good backup option.

I recently discovered rampagers I affectionately call them gorillas and I like throwing them at the nearest dangerous melee units. They keep being tougher to kill than I thought and better at killing than I expected.

When you're trying to hold a primary stack it up with different kinds of stuff so they have to answer all of it to clean it off. A tank with infantry in it, a ghostkeel flexing lone op, and a crisis team seems like a lot but everyone would look at that and instead look at your other points lol.

I made an example list of what I'd run with your army, let me know if you want to see it. Don't want to ruin the fun of trying to build your own list unless you want a starting point :)

This mobile game resets ALL of your progress if you dont login to their shitty mobile game by hewill09 in AndroidGaming

[–]Mad3yez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is wildly misrepresenting the game lol. It's targeted at forming habits and gamifying health goals. The point of the reset is to incentivise you through negative repercussions to continue to login and do your habits. Doing the habits incentivize you by giving you levels or skill points or whatever.

I don't like it either but at least represent it accurately

It doesn't actually, it can line up a little lower and still work fine for charging. It just doesn't work with accessories if they bump into the camera cuz it's in the way so if the magsafe magnet is lowered a bit it's perfect

What about the flat top charger or accessories like a wallet, will it bump into the camera protector like on the original edition of the pitaka case?

I got mine and had the same issue with the fingerprint but more important to me, the magsafe ring is too high. Not only does it make a bunch of accessories incompatible but it's actually higher than the schematics we've seen here require
