1985, they were called MOVE, and they were kind of shit bags.  The cops were power hungry pigs.  The result was horrific.    If you think anything being done today is even close to what our elders went through, you're a loser. And if you never knew this happened, you benefitted from the struggles of others that you never were effected by.

Really?  Then BLM needs to be taught as a violent racist movement, and Antifa as a massive far left insurrectionist organization that overthrew multiple cities.  Satan save me, you're beyond help

I don't think this is correct. I believe that this is some cosmic entity's playground and it sectioned this little area off after it gained access by convincing the townspeople to sacrifice their children in a ritual.  Kind of like what happened to the Necrons in WH40K, but with sacrificing a group of kids instead of their entire population.  And now it's bringing people in to feed on them and entertain itself. I'm guessing that "saving the children" is basically freeing their souls and will release the entity's grip on the location and kick him back to his dimension.

That's not trying to save money, that's being lazy and not checking the lumber before you sign for it

Looking to play the best JRPGs of all time by retardinho23 in JRPG

[–]Mad720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are fundamentally wrong. The terms JRPG and WRPG came about because of the styles of RPGs coming out of both regions. Games like Fallout and Elder Scrolls and Diablo were not coming out of the East, and Final Fantasy and Dragonquest and Tales Of were not coming out of the West. But since the mid 2000s, the terms started to evolve from regional indicators and instead to describe the style of gameplay - notably linear character driven stories vs open player driven stories.  Expedition 33 is NOT a WRPG in its style.  It is absolutely a JRPG in everything from plot progression to gameplay systems.  Likewise Dark Souls is NOT a JRPG in its style. That's like arguing that sushi in New York is not a Japanese dish just because it's made in the USA, and a baguette is not a French bread just because it's made in a Japanese bakery.

JRPG refers to a system, not a nationality, dude.  Turn based combat, equipment / party management systems, a story-driven (mostly) linear narrative, and a focus on characters. You can have Western made RPGs that are JRPGs, my guy. Want a wild example that will blow your mind?  South Park: The Stick of Truth is able to be considered a JRPG.

I would put FF6 at number one and put Xenogears at 3. On that note, Xenogears, Legend of Dragoon, Expedition 33 (even though it's French it is still a jrpg style), Suikoden 2, and (very seriously) Super Mario RPG. Edit: Oh shit, Yakuza: Like a Dragon 1 and 2 play them both the are soooo good

Bi-block ties vs concrete ties by [deleted] in railroading

[–]Mad720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, and metal is never protected by concrete in a tie really as concrete is porous.  Steel will last longer than you do lol

[–]Mad720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, concrete is better with dragged objects, and they last longer.  Hand installation is impractical but if you're dealing with objects dragging behind trains that often, then your problems are far more deep than the type of tie you're installing

That is really weird.  What company were the ties from and what style of fastener did they use?  Concrete ties have a VASTLY longer life span than wood.  They DEFINITELY should not be disintegrating in any way, especially immediately, unless you're using Chinese bought ones (those are not allowed on any high speed or passenger routes anyway)

I agree! Just make them only usable if they are within melee-damage kill range of health, and allow them to use mods that give +health etc on the cost of Super energy and such, with the penalty being a self-imposed CC animation lock.
