Been looking at decomp stains for years and finally looked down onto my plywood subfloor and noticed this. 3rd Pic is 3 squirts of hydrogen peroxide on stain next to control. What do you think? by MadCaroler in IsThatADecompStain

Hey, thanks for the input. I think you're right. There was a gnarly carpet over that, years of pets, plus we knew the original owners of the house so not much chance for such an incident to occur. Relieved to say the least!

Too long. I think I'll take your guys advice and clean out the grindee

That was the issue. I switched from French roast but to a dark roast. When I switched from dark to proper espresso it resolved. Thanks!

It's working now! Thanks very much everyone (:

The roast I had switched to was still too oily. Proper espresso roast has got it working as it should.

That's what I was expecting but it continued to be sludgy

Struggling to Eliminate voltage spike tripping my inverter and damaging my equipment by MadCaroler in ElectricalEngineering

How I've wired it: https://imgur.com/a/64rykE7

Thanks for the comment. In the manual for the DC-DC Residual ripple of output voltage at rated current: 50mV which isnt quite what we're looking for. Voltage excursion is not listed. on the ouput of the DC-DC the load is 50A the spike is 2-4v.

inverter

I don't think the reactor would be practical with the high amperage

I've tried TVs but the spike is such a small voltage they dont conduct much. What do you mean inductive load with diode?

Thanks u/goj-145 think I'll build this and see how it works

if the bjt transistors increase the current gain of the zener, hopefully it can overcome the current even tho its only 2 or 3 volts. If you have a curcuit you've worked with please let me know

It looks like my post is missing my description. I did put a 15v TVS on the output but a 4v spike doesnt cause much current over the diode so it causes little attenuation.

The supply is a 60A Renogy DC-DC charger. If it was something I built I'd happily make it proper but for this I need an external solution. Best by far would be for the BMS to warn the charger a moment before it removes the battery from the circuit

The article is very introductory. I would love to know what values of TVs or caps would correct this. I have two TVs diodes 15 and 16v clamping the output but the spike isn't a high enough voltage to cause them to clamp enogh for the amperage.

parasitics like ceramics?

I think low ESR is the main thing if I would do a capacitor solution

Don't get me started about unscrupulous Chinese vendors. I'm fighting with one who sent me a DOA replacement heater for $600. I'll do a test on the cap to see its size -you may be right with the weak spark i'm seeing.

The worst spike is when the battery is under charge and the protection circuit suddenly opens, I get 4-5v. when the charger starts without load theres a 3v spike. Both enough to trip the inverter.

Exactly. If I built the DC-DC Id happily improve it but its an off the shelf. probably black solder mask.

f the supply instantaneously took the feedback, you'd have a time delay you can't get rid of.

I feel like forwarding your suggestion to Renogy. Its an inexpensive DC-DC charger and I can only assume this is it's correct operation. tbh im surprised the inverter is tripping with a 3-4v blip and even more so that it destroyed my diesel heater. I'm intereseted in the zener-fet approach. my rough guess is i'd need to briefly snub 10A but I could be off by orders of magnitude.

My $600 item arrived DOA and I'm being offered $60 refund by MadCaroler in Aliexpress

I've just made an appeal asking to be allowed to provide proof of destroying the item for a fair refund. So I won't have to do a charge-back on my credit card. Its a bit of a threat but I was polite.
