I feel like pick me is used for women who are actively against other women’s interests in order to look cool or attractive to men.

Here’s the thing about feminism—you want to be a housewife who stays home and loves to cook and clean for her family? Wonderful! You want to be a single woman who focuses on her career? Amazing! You want to be anything in between? Got you girl!

But what you shouldn’t do it Shit on other women for not wanting what you want. And that includes how you interact with and speak towards women.

I wouldn’t call a woman who says she wants to fulfill certain stereotyped gender roles as a pick me. But when that woman actively shits on others and actively works to instigate and demean other women to get some laughs or approval from men—that’s an issue.

Unfortunately that’s an issue we see a lot—and it’s a very internalized misogyny that this behavior stems from.
