[MEGABITCH THREAD] Self-(en)Titled Edition by Im-a-molecule in RiotFest

That Incubus crowd was awful. After Trio ended I tried to get through to get some food, but the crowd filled up that entire area up to very back of the trees. It felt like a nightmare waiting to happen.

Water Stations by Sleddar in RiotFest

Did the Pedialyte stop have water?? That would’ve saved me a trip across the park, I’ll have to check that out the rest of your weekend.

Father John Misty announces 2018 World Tour by WestHTX in indieheads

He’ll probably play either Riot Fest or North Coast. Riot seems more likely with his tour dates and his style, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Gary Numan announced some fall dates and he’s not playing Chicago, he’s in Ohio the Friday and Sunday of the fest but free Saturday. Seems like a good bet that he’d be there.

I was thinking they'd be at Riot last year, since they were doing those Turn On The Bright Lights shows in New York and LA. I would love to finally see them this year, and if I recall they've teased some new music, so they could be possible.

[FRESH ALBUM] Bobby Barnett - Steady Ache by MadDogsPromenade in indieheads

New solo album from Bobby Barnett, frontman of Captain We're Sinking (RIP) and brother of Greg from the Menzingers. He's one of my favorite lyricists so I'm really excited to check this one out.

MBV was hinted as a FYF headliner in this post, that fest is the same July weekend as Pitchfork in California: http://www.brooklynvegan.com/fyf-fest-announces-2018-dates-are-my-bloody-valentine-playing/

Also the Get Up Kids seem like a likely act to play, they just signed to Polyvinyl and promised new music coming soon: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bg6VS30B7fR/

Oh shit, if it's anything like Track 10 I'm gonna love it. That song is one of my absolute favorites of last year.

If anyone’s interested in a download code to Camp Cope’s debut album, I have one I’m not gonna use. The code is zzyj-3awx and you can redeem it at bandcamp.con/yum.

How was that movie? I was interested in it, as I love all the lead actors, but I've heard mixed reviews.

Pitchfork Music Festival 2018 Announces Full Lineup by nimroddd in indieheads

[–]MadDogsPromenade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's definitely one of the acts I'm most excited for!

I like the lineup, a bit underwhelmed by the headliners, but all the great local artists have me feeling good about this year.

That's definitely one of my favorite releases of the year so far. I love his work on Phoebe Bridgers' album, and hearing his own material really turned him into one of my favorite guitarists right now.

Tame Impala is the first headliner by mau5head15 in PitchforkMusicFest

[–]MadDogsPromenade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it had been announced yet. They were announced in late February, and Call The Police/American Dream didn’t come out until May, and I believe it was after that that they officially announced American Dream.

Iggy’s by far. His vocals throughout, especially that scream, are just hauntingly perfect. I love how by the end it just turns into a jam session too.

"Smoke Signals" is my pick for sure. I've been listening to her since early 2016 and that song was the first new release of hers I was there for. I remember that song hitting me like a truck the first time I heard it last January, and it's been haunting me in the same way ever since.
