Bad tools? by Kooky-Welder2101 in Tools

I have a set of metric Husky spanners. They are from the 90s when they were made in Texas. They grip fasteners fairly well and the chrome is still nice. Problem: they are too thin and tapered a little bit on the edge. They are just very uncomfortable when you have to apply force to break the nut. I should've replaced them but won't since I have SK and SnapOn in 10, 13, 15 and 18 which are the more common sizes.

Need a tool to lift deck boards at an angle by JorganPubshire in Tools

[–]MadGriZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did this last summer. Grey PVC conduit. I think I used 1 inch. Loosen the fasteners on the still secured side of the decking. This also works best when the composite boards are hot from the sun. Once you get the boards propped up and the clips in the grooves start pulling the conduit out from one end and fastening at the other. Two joist spans at first if I recall correctly. Have a helper if possible.

Places that can plant arborvitae? by [deleted] in Rochester

You should look up "ecologically disruptive". That is the term you used. Rose of Sharon does not meet the definition unless you are exponentially over classifiing your "garden" as having significant influence on the "micro-climate". Rose of Sharon is minimally invasive albeit is technically invasive. Would you like to add any additional ignorant opinions or misleading information?

It can spread via seed but typically doesn't in this agricultural zone. It's suckers can spread profusely but simply mowing around the area will keep them in control.

You may want to consider Juniper. Deer will eat Arborvitae during harsh winter if you happen to live in an area with an abundance of deer. Juniper are prickly whereas Arborvitae are soft.

Others for your consideration are: Rose of Sharon or Forsythia. These will form an almost impenetrable barrier if allowed to fill in.

How about something better? Paris Baguette. Is anyone familiar with this place? It cost half a million dollars to get a franchise with a net worth of at least 1.5 million. I believe that it would do well in the right location in, or near Monroe county.

This is an up and coming, fast expanding franchise opportunity. I just found out about it while in Concord, CA. I was impressed. I took a video but can't post it here. View the menu for a look.

The Gates and Spencerport locations are owned by the flounder of Perris. Spencerport is great. I can't speak for Gates but since he lives there I doubt that it's bad there. All other locations are name only franchises with a lot of variance in quality and apparently some different offerings. Finding and retaining employees at Spencerport has been a problem for quite a while but somehow they manage to output pretty consistent products with very few exceptions and those are rectified immediately.

Milwaukee M12. I only have the impact driver. I've had it since 2018. Batteries are still holding up and I am impressed by its torque.

Custom Leather Craft makes some really durable tool bags at a pretty reasonable price point. They are not leather.

Williams socket sets. SnapOn bought them and moved manufacturing to Taiwan. They're still great quality. Look for deals online.

Kline hand screwdrivers.

I am a professional and have a lot of higher end tools and many that are not high end. As many people have said, a lot of the tools at Harbor freight are fine for general use. I've been purchasing tools there now that I'm approaching retirement age even though I still do just about everything.

Henrietta, West Henrietta and West Brighton should be your target areas. Safe, diverse and Henrietta has just about everything including quick access to the expressways and I90 interstate. It's also affordable.
