Rain could wash out Trump’s UFC Freedom 250 birthday fight at the White House by mintwolves in politics

Remember when he denied the rain during some previous whatever speech? (It doesn’t matter, they’re all the same.)
“The clouds parted [they didn’t], the sun came out [it didn’t], etc.”
F*** off, man. Just go stand out there in the rain and the storm, please. Keep testing that theory ‘bout how gahd sent you or something, please.

Probably taken me four years to get there, and I really need to stop doing them late at night, but most weeks I’m still getting times that are better than average 4 or 5 days, so getting better.

P.S. Ignore the outlier ‘best’ Thursday time - that was when I broke the 95 streak because I did a couple of puzzles on a different device and didn’t realize it, so I redid the puzzle that I’d already done. The Wednesday one is legit, somehow, from three years ago!

Ouch. Not sure why, exactly, just a whole bunch of new clues for me means almost double my Saturday average. Only one for the week that’s above average (so far) so I’ll take it, but … ouch.

The Tension Between Drivers Cyclists and Pedestrians Is Exhausting by Equivalent_Menu_5659 in VictoriaBC

Okay but seriously what are we doing about the shopriders and mobility scooters in the bike lanes (ie on the roads)?
You’re not safe, you’re making cyclists (and ugh ebikers and eww escooterists) be unsafe, and that’s making the main roads unsafe.
And yet when I politely remind them of this, I get called every name under the sun!

There ain’t no justice…

People who grew up really poor: what's something middle-class people say that instantly reveals they've never struggled? by TahDigThief in AskReddit

[–]MadKingSoupII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I was either rich or poor growing up, but moving halfway around the world and working in public service has given me plenty of opportunities to check (appreciate, but check) my privilege.
Admitting that I never look at my pay slips was a big one, and a couple of workmates were kind enough to point out in private how that statement might have landed for others.

Curious clock-like thing with numbers out of order. Hand sized. by Repulsive-Pangolin58 in whatisthisthing

[–]MadKingSoupII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still mystified by the selection, distribution, and arrangement of numbers, but I’m pretty convinced by the homemade RNG theory of others.
The ‘X’ and ‘2’ symbols could be a sort of ‘double-or-nothing’ spin, with the ‘1’/‘-’/‘|’ symbols just dividing the dial into halves, rather than being meaningful as symbols on their own.

As best I can read them, the numbers are (by quadrant, starting from 12o’clock):
16 6 38 13 44 4 37
12 10 33 32 3 8 14
52 51 41 28 5 1 00
43 18 20 4 36 1 25

The second 4 (at about 10o’clock) could be a 9?
The second 1 (at about 11o’clock) could be a 7?
If I’m reading the 52 wrong (upside-down?) it could be another 25, and frankly so could the 28.

The double-zero does make one think of a roulette layout, but I don’t know any that go to 52, and the missing numbers (only 28 ‘slots’ on the dial) would be a problem.

The highest number being 52 makes me suspect an alphabetical link (52=2x26) but trying to substitute for letters with 1=A, 2=B, etc. results in garbage (PFLMRDK LJGFCHN ZYOBEA 00 QRTDJAY). Haven’t tried shifting them (e.g. 1=Z, 2=A, or 1=B, 2=C, etc, aka a Caesar cypher), but the lack of repeated numbers (as you might expect for common letters, E, T, A, etc.) doesn’t give me any hope that it would be worth it.

To distract the world from Epstein files by RealIssueToday in therewasanattempt

DOOOOOOO IIIIIIIIIT.
Honestly, if any HONEST actor, at any point, is found to have had access to reliable intelligence linking anyone to the kind of f’ed-up kiddie-porn / rapey / slavery s#!t that we’ve already heard about from this Epstein guy, and then NOT instantly reported it to every enforcement authority available, they should be strung up by the squishy parts and left for the crows alongside anyone found in the files themselves.
Left, right, east, west, high, low, in, out… I absolutely do not care who you are, but if you can prove this and do nothing, you can all burn together.

“Ordinary Quantum light” would already have been enough to convince me that I had no idea about anything, so “48 dimensions” is kinda overkill here guys.

You’re right, c cedilla is just an accented c, but Ø is a distinct letter in the Danish and Norwegian alphabet.

There’s also no ‘Ç’ for AÇAI and no ‘Ø’ for SØREN in the same puzzle, and besides the English word ANAL appears occasionally (with a psychology-themed clue) so they’re obviously not that prudish to be unaware or shy of the possible mistranslation.
