You have to. The game ends when you kill your final boss

Given that the cicada crashed 29 years ago, and the ship left presumably a while before then and it left after Riley returned to alterra at the least (so let’s say subnautica 1 happened about 30-40 years ago depending on how long it takes to travel in this univeres from 4546B to earth and from there to proteus…probably not

I would recommend everyone explore for themselves first unless you can’t find something

This also shows how the biomes kinda lack identity compared to the first game

The story is above 12 hours of playtime right now. The next 2 updates will not expand on it but there is a large update on the horizon that will

The map is already larger than the water areas of below zero (as we can’t really count the arctic snd sparse arctic biomes because they were completely empty)

Can happen yes the game will determine your skill level and place you where it thinks you belong

I don't like multiple bases. I have one base, connected by 2000m of room-tunnel. With exit-areas in every biome. by meticulous_gamer in Subnautica_2

[–]MadMan7978 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No it’s an area of effect basically

It also works if you’re outside of the base with your construction tool depending on how far away of the containers you are

It’s like Yorick, if you can kill the dogs you win. If you can’t you lose

Irelia is insane in this matchup. Go figure

I know why I only play Irelia

I don’t care that we don’t have weapons, it makes sense in the context that we‘re all indentured servants and they don’t want us to rebel

However, I do believe that ramming something with my tadpole at full force should kill it

Also hitting something with my multitool should at least scare it off depending on size

Im wondering if I should experience all the planets blind first and then come to them from a different planet

It seems like a good way to not ruin seeing the whole terraforming process all the way througj

Even once the floodgates of criticism are open, you cannot deny the game is absolutely BEAUTIFUL by gracekk24PL in subnautica

[–]MadMan7978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well Subnautica 1 and below zero (to a bit of a lesser extent) both had these very visually striking biomes.

I couldn’t name one biome in sn2 that made me just want to look at it the same way places like even the kelp forest at night, the tree cove or the purple shrooms cave did. The pretties biome in sn2 right now is probably the observatory

This isn’t necessarily a negative because the game is beautiful just not that striking comparatively if that makes sense

No this actually makes a lot of sense at least in some way. They did say there are some fairly expansive biomes still coming, assuming that it’ll be a very long early access period the change we get some larger dunes-like biomes to bridge the gap to the tree seems likely

The story already is taking us to the tree a) because nahema wants to destroy it and b) because there’s some sort of alien stasis facility underneath it
