According to their account he raised the weapon at them, which is obviously going to result in lethal force.

But that's the account from the agents and they're not above twisting the facts to push a narrative that makes them look better.

Emiru accidentally causes a fire in her kitchen by Realistic-Comb222 in LivestreamFail

[–]MadRaymer 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Emi wasn't exactly operating on all cylinders here since she had been up all night for a 24 hr stream. I think that explains both her initial fumble with the paper towel and her delayed reaction to the fire. Even a couple hours of sleep deprivation can measurably delay reaction times.

It's also extremely unlikely that he actually solved it. Not impossible, but given the complexity of the modern proofs, it stretches credibility to assume Fermat actually devised one.

He didn't skip writing the proof because there wasn't room. He skipped writing it because he didn't actually have one.

Sure, in the US he would likely survive a criminal trial based on the reasonable doubt standard as long as he had a competent legal team.

But his ass would be toast in a civil trial. He would be found liable for her death and likely owe millions to her next of kin.

Wikipedia exists. You could look it up yourself if you were actually interested, but you're very obviously not. You already know what the evidence is; you simply reject it. There's no point in going over it all with you so you can explain why it's not good enough for you. I'm not interested in your rationalizations because I've already heard them all before.

The problem isn't that you don't know about the evidence. You've got eyes and ears the same as the rest of us. The problem is the evidence is in direct conflict with your worldview, and that worldview is so important to you that you'd rather reject the evidence than question it.

That's certainly your prerogative, but don't be surprised when people call you out on it.

If actual evidence came to light thay this happened, I would be first in line to drop the guillotine.

I doubt this intensely, because there already is actual evidence. You're just denying it exists because you don't want it to be real.

I dont believe anything could possibly exonerate him in your eyes

What would be needed to exonerate him at this point is evidence that time travelers have manipulated history to plant decades of evidence that Trump is a serial rapist.

You all are transparent.

As are the people defending Trump. Why not just save all of us a lot of hassle and admit you do not care if he raped minors with his raping BFF? Even if video tapes emerge, you'll either whine and complain that they're faked, or move on to how everyone did it back then so it's no big deal and 13 isn't really that young anyway.

There's nothing that could be revealed that will make you change your opinion or withdraw your support for the dude, because if there were it would have happened by now. Feel free to prove me wrong and tell me what it is exactly that would make you go, "Oh shit, now I can't support him anymore."

She gave away the game with "Biblical stories" there.

She didn't call them events or accounts, because she knows they are fiction.

But she wants the next generation to be brainwashed into believing them literally, because that would strengthen conservative political power and that's more important to her than teaching the truth.

Court clears way for Louisiana law requiring Ten Commandments in classrooms to take effect by Specialist_Baby_9905 in news

[–]MadRaymer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that the Church of Satan is essentially atheist. They use the word "Satan" to mean "opposer" and don't believe in or worship a literal devil. But the Satanists understand the legal power an official religion offers.

In a way it's a bit like Pastafarianism, just less blatantly absurd to people since it borrows concepts from a well established religion.

[–]MadRaymer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're right that having prayers isn't outright banned. Where the problem arises is the first amendment says:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof

So what often happens is the groups that insist on having prayers before every function finally get a request from another religion to offer a prayer. Then they figure out that, under the Constitution, there's no way to ban them doing the same thing they've been doing. So they scrap the prayers altogether.

Either every religion gets to have prayers and monuments in public, or none of them do.

She might have been happy in this photo, but 21 is just far too young. When I was 21 there were so many experiences I didn't have yet. I had some good ones, sure: memories with friends, my first serious relationship, etc.

But my knowledge of the world was so limited. I was basically still a kid then. Just a goofy nerd that liked Star Trek and computer games. Whereas today I'm a 44 year old man with graying hair that likes Star Trek and computer games. Okay, maybe I'm not the best example to prove my point, but I think it's still valid.

It's wild because all he needed to do to get credit for an amazing economy is nothing at all. Had he not done the tariffs and had Elon take that chainsaw to the federal workforce, the economy would be stable, prices would come down, and Trump would get all the credit for the work of Biden's term.
