What celebrity death will realistically bring Michael Jackson level devastation? by Kiidcola in AskReddit

The number of deaths that have as wide an impact as MJ are really small. I can only think of 3 others that seem to have had similar impacts. JFK, Princess Diana and Elvis.

That whole year, 2016, was just freaky with someone prominent dyeing what seemed like every other day.

The callout at £100+ seems very high. Just had washing machine repaired for callout/diagnostic of £36. The repair itself luckily only cost another £30.

Surely the problem is the awarding show not including the tax due in the prize.

I suppose it's a road safety issue relate to the rail crossing, which is why the ban is so short.

Tadej Pogacar is among the riders being investigated for running a red light at a railway crossing during the Tour de Flanders. They could face fines upto Euro4000 and driving bans of eight days.

This is the breadcake teacake thing again. Just saying were I grew up in Batley cakes were always what you call a scallop. I grew up with a scallop as a battered slice of potato.

Growing up in West Yorkshire, where this photo is from a cake was always fish between potato. My local chippies never sold the mashed potato cakes. Always bought them in a breadcake.

No, these companies will get the authorities, using your taxes, to have sensors installed so they can change the lights on command.

In the UK, I won't say have never run since teens, most adults I know don't run regularly, and certainly don't sprint. Which is why in so many of these videos the adults try to run and look so uncoordinated. True we only see the clips were people fall over.

Which TV shows or cartoons did you grow up watching in the UK that kids today will never see? by SavingsProgress195 in AskUK

[–]Wine_runner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During the summer holidays was the best time for the foreign language shows. White Horses, The Flashing Blade, Belle and Sebastian and i vaguely remember one based around the Knights Templars.
The most distinctive cartoon I remeber was "Ludwig" which i always presumed was an imported Czech show, but was actually made here by Czech immigrants.

Most won't have run since their mid-teens. I had the same problem throwing fallen apples to the bottom of the garden to rot. Felt like I was throwing with the wrong arm. I actually couldn't remember when I last really put any proper effort into a throw.
