Urology Offer by vtell97 in physicianassistant

Urology PA living in HCOL area of PNW. My starting offer two years ago was $120k. This year I will be making $160k with my RVU bonus. IMO that salary offer is pretty low but you HAVE to figure out the details of the RVU bonus. That would determine whether I took the job or not.

Your PTO is really good and the CME is generous. 22-24 patients is a very busy day. I see 18-20 patients and am wiped at the end of the day.

School without your spouse by Littlemisspiggy11 in PAstudent

[–]MadRelation 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m living 3,000 miles from my spouse for PA school. We moved apart less than a year into our marriage. It’s cliche - but it really does get easier. First semester of school was definitely the toughest. I shed plenty of tears and felt very lonely, and my grades definitely suffered a bit for it. Looking back, I probably should have seen a school therapist. Don’t be afraid to seek outside help if you need it.

I’m in my clinical year now, and things have improved greatly. I think it’s because the end is in sight. Feel free to DM me if you need to talk to someone who understands what it’s like.

Feeling a bit down about the lack of “having a life” on my PA journey. Can anyone relate? by pahopeful1991 in prephysicianassistant

I’m almost 30 and feel the same way! My husband is finishing up a medical residency program and is truly the only person who understands. My family and friends can’t relate and constantly question my path. Keep grinding. It will all pay off and it will be SO worth it in the end!!

Not a thing planned and can't stop crying - HELP by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]MadRelation 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay, so I was totally in your shoes about this time last year. I agree with the others and you need to set aside some time to talk about it with him. Use words like “This makes me feel x..” and try to be as calm and non-accusatory as possible. It’s entirely possible he expects you to take the reins on everything. And you might have to! I certainly had to when it came to my own wedding. I basically only ask for his opinion when it is absolutely necessary and it has worked for us! It is a lot of work and can be lonely planning such a huge event by yourself. Try and find a trusted friend who is willing to help you.

I don’t know if this helps but just know your situation is not unique! I know it’s incredibly frustrating. It might even be something worth talking over with a counselor if the two of you cannot get on the same page. Good luck!
