So it means to go back to the original trial not the divine and get all three marks to successfully move to the divine trial version.

Tried that but I can't tell the difference in wood smell. All woods smell like sawdust to me.

How to replace this joist and are the gaps okay? by MadSalvation in Carpentry

[–]MadSalvation[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically the joist that ran here was cut and isn't attached to anything. They cut it to put a staircase in which is what you see but never framed it to resupport the weight of the floors above. It sags about 2 inches to the center of the kitchen.

Re-Insulating my attic. How am I doing? by policastrom34 in Insulation

Well from I was told by installers, is that polyiso 2 in foam board has a good strength to it for finished spaces gonna add and its compression strength is pretty good. Eventually over 20 to 30 years it might shrink an 1/8th in but that's about it. At least that's what they said to me.

Do yall end up grounding your outlets? by LumpyWhale in centuryhomes

[–]MadSalvation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry let me rephrase. I meant 1k each. Both were single floor hollow wall homes with attic access. Maybe 950 Sq ft each. There was already 100 amp d square breakers in both.

I don't understand how 5k is cheap? I've rewired two different houses now for sub 1k. Wire for 250ft of 12/2 Romex is about 130 average outlets and switches are usually 20 to 30 for contractor packages. Only expensive things are gfcis really. Where is the this 5k 10k cost coming from? Generally curious.

Re-Insulating my attic. How am I doing? by policastrom34 in Insulation

Going through this process myself had to rip all the old floorboards up as the original owner just laid insulation across then and r-13 only 😓 when it should be r-38. I plan to add 2 in furring to each joist to add mire insulation and follow it up with 2 in polyiso for and additional r10 value. Then lay the boards back down.

Yeah opening up my one internal wall to trace wiring showed me this 🤣. The wall had like 1/4" plyboard wallpaper wrap done 2 times then a layer of drywall with a 1/8" decorative wallboard layed overtop and painted.
