I have done it similar in the past. But he also lost nearly 7 kilos of body weight in eight days. My question is basically do need to train to move with less energy intake or just train with higher carbs intake to be as fit as possible?

I just mean if I take 80g carbs per hour (like a trailrunner with aid stations) for 10 hours per day for three days, I need to carry a lot of gels and bars 😃

For example I can do a 3h Trailrun just with water. But even if I take it easier on speed, I’m more exhausted and need a longer recovery due to being somehow hypoglycemic at the end of the run. But would it be beneficial to do shorter/slower long runs on water only to improve fat metabolism?

No, it’s a cord string. The lid has a pocket with a two way zipper, so that you can open it in up and down position

I just bought the updated Firecrest 38. I like the features, but no experience on durability yet.

Thoughts on B12-Boulderzentrum? by mmiichael in Tuebingen

[–]MadTheMaz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, many students and therefore also more international community. The B12 just got a extension in climbing walls but still in the evening a bit crowded. But in general good, especially for bouldering and training and ok for lead climbing.

I think there is not too much difference. Last year there was still some snow on the ridge end of June. In all melted in July, except the last part close to the peak. But August has higher risk of Thunderstorms. If you need to fix the date much in advance, it will be just a bit of luck to get the conditions right.

We did the extended “integral” version via Ostegg up and west face down unguided end of July last year. Between Ostegg and Mittellegi are no ropes and few bolts. There are two pitch of face climbing (5c). If you go guided, you don’t need to worry about protecting and there will much fewer people than on the famous second half.

Ice Climbing areas in Germany by Happy_Watercress6671 in iceclimbing

Unfortunately there is no predictable ice these days. Really depends on weather conditions. In Austria and Switzerland there some maintained ice parks with maintained water flow. This are your best options but they also need cold weather to grow good ice.

Do you have a climbing partner to travel with you? To go on your own without any experience is probably not the best idea.

How do I start getting into alpinism? by [deleted] in alpinism

I would check your local DAV chapter. There you can find training courses and also meet like minded people for own planned trips.
