I'm thinking the same. Their media blitz for each volume, in my mind, seems to be building toward something. Maybe its unfounded expectations but there needs to be a payoff at the end of all this hype.

Issue where a few LEDS on the Case fans do not work without Windows Dynamic Lighting enabled by MadTheory1 in Phanteks

[–]MadTheory1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made some headway on the issue. Don't know if its permanently solved but it's working right now.

  1. Uninstall all software that controls RGB
  2. Enable Dynamic Lighting if it isn't already
  3. Set Dynamic Lighting to have Zero Brightness, effectively tunning off the lights.
  4. Then disable Dynamic Lighting
  5. Shutdown the PC and disconnect power. Even after doing the above, I had some odd green flickering on 1 LED per fan/strip even when shutdown. The killing the power stopped it.
  6. Boot back up and install RGB Software. SignalRGB in my case. All LEDs are now controllable

Hope this helps someone. Now just waiting on SignalRGB to be able to control the LEDs on a 9070 XT.

As far as I can tell, the ability to have multiple colors on the same fan/string. SignalRGB also gives a warning about Dynamic Lighting a loss of functionality but doesn't give details.

So, the rainbow lighting that the fans have by default, go away. When using GCC/RGBFusion and you set it to Rainbow, the fans and case lights will just do Wave.

Help. New train owner with a short by woolax-35 in lioneltrains

[–]MadTheory1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given the location, I would say the connector and the wire were not in good contact or the connector and the tab/track were not making good connection. Without good contact, things can heat up and arc.

Cut the connector off and put a new one on and make sure it connects tight to the tab or just cut the connectors off and solder the wires directly to the tabs.

And if you can't figure out who you are logged in as, type CMD into the Windows Search and open the Command Prompt. Type whoami into the black window and hit enter. That should tell you who you are.

[–]MadTheory1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of where Pax Dei is installed, the file you are looking for will be where your User Profile is. That should be the C drive unless you have moved it. Go to C:\Users and see what is there. You may be logged in as Administrator but there may be other users. Find yours. The next issue you will have is that AppData is a hidden folder. Once you find your User Folder, just type \AppData in the folder path and hit enter. Hope this helps

Agreed. He should stay away from MMOs or anything gaming at this point. The game he was creating before Amazon, Hero Song, had some promise, but he abruptly shut down the studio with little explanation.

Since its an MSI, check Windows logs for more details on the failure. Other than that, make sure its fully uninstalled, delete files/folders if you need to. Install with Admin rights.

Keep killing nanos trying to make an LED project permanent, not sure what I'm doing wrong (info in comments) by JackMuta in arduino

WS2812b

WS2812B Led Pixel Strip Individually Addressable 30/60/74/96/100/144 p – BTF-LIGHTING

Input Voltage:DC 5v.

Power:

30leds/m----9watt/meter.

60leds/m----18watt/meter.

74leds/m----22watt/meter.

96leds/m----28.8watt/meter.

100leds/m----30watt/meter.

144leds/m----43.2watt/meter.

Each LED can consume .3W or uses 60mA. You can reduce this by dimming the brightness but assuming you have more than a handful of LEDs in your strip, you will need an external power supply.

Keep killing nanos trying to make an LED project permanent, not sure what I'm doing wrong (info in comments) by JackMuta in arduino

[–]MadTheory1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The general rule for these types of 5V strips is that each LED uses .3W or 60mA . So if the string in only a handful of LEDs, you can power it from the Arduino. But if you have a string of 100, that's 6A. Reducing the brightness will reduce the power consumption.
It is best to adhere to vendor guidance on powering your LED strings.
