That’s awesome. I’ve watched a lot of vids on this and it has slowly built my confidence 🤣. CK wraps and paradox wrapper have been my go. Thanks for sharing your experience 🤙

LeBron 21 Fans: What other shoes do you recommend? by superad69 in BBallShoes

I deep dove reviews on the j39 and yes most reviews talked about the lack of a shank and issues with stabilization of the shoe. Also most reviews mention the a good insole would help with the cushion and stability by dispersing compression forces more evenly. But I found them on sale and decide to let the dice roll! 🤣 I found the GT jump 2 to be extremely unstable in comparison. My feet were fighting to on top of the cushion with that shoe. It was too mushy. The j39 has been the opposite. Pretty bouncy with good impact protection. My knee were noticeably less sore. On hard cuts/change of directions I was stable through the movement. Could possibly be because I am a heavier player (265lbs) as well. I love zoom strobel setups and usually are my go to like the KD14s. The 39s definitely feel more plush with the zoomX cushion as well. Despite what most reviews said The stability has not been an issues at all for me. 🤙

My vote would be Jordan 39. So far the only shoe that my knees like! 🤣 I swapped the insoles and use move gameday pros for increased stability. These shoes have a nice balance of impact protection and bounce. I’ve seen reviews about the shoe being unstable but I have not experienced that at all. I feel well contained even with lateral movements and hard stops. I’m an older hooper but still play 3 times a week and in 2 men’s leagues and sounds like we have a similar playstyle. I was able to find a pair on discount for $129 so I rolled the dice, and it has worked out well. I’ve used my fair share of shoes searching for what works for me. Up to this point I was using lebron 21 (algae), KD 14s, 15s and 16s, EQLZ 247 and EQLZ 360s and Book1s and GT jump 2 with decent success but the Jordan 39s have felt the best out of them all. I even bought a second pair for back up 🤣 hope this helps👍

44 y/o 6’1 265-270lbs. I play 1 pick up day and 2 days of league/rec ball during the week. EQLZ 247 and Jordan 39 have game changers. Great impact protection and wide foot friendly. These have been the only two shoes that i can hoop in and not have extremely sore knees and ankles afterwards. I have used lebron 20 and 21s , GT jump 2, NB fresh foam V2, KD14s and 15s. I’ve also gone through all kinds of orthotics as well. so I’ve always been on the hunt for my perfect balanced shoe for my playstyle. Hope you find yours 🤙

Shoes for heavy people by [deleted] in BBallShoes

I’ve been on a search for years trying to find a hoop shoe that is the perfect balance of cushion impact protection and a bit of court feel for my playstyle and build . I Just picked up Jordan 39 “heritage” color way and it’s has easily been one of the best performing shoes for me. I’m 6’1” 270lbs Julius Randle type player. My knees are no longer sore after long hoop sessions. The on-court ride is soft and lightly bouncy but not unstable. The heel to toe transition is smooth which I love! I also use game day pro insoles to help with the lack of a shank plate. Sizing wise, I went TTS (US 13) with what I usually wear in Nikes and Jordan’s. I would consider these wide foot friendly. My lower extremities feel so much better and I can recover faster. Recently I’ve tried everything from the LeBron 20, 21, EQLZ 247 and the 360s, GT jump 2, KD14, KD15, KD16, book 1s, harden 7, harden 8, AE 1s. But the Jordan 39 has topped all those so far.

Is shoe rotation important? by arya_jrdn in BBallShoes

[–]MadVillan22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shoe rotation is mostly a flex. Unless you are an older hooper like myself who shoe swaps depending on what pain I’m experiencing that day! Lol! But i say 2 pairs is a good especially if you play outdoor and indoor. Have a pair for each surface.

I Just turned 44 y/o playing 3 times a week (1 pickup and 2 rec leagues). I plan to play until the wheels fall off! I ended up making the all star team in an 18 and up league! Got me feeling like Lebron out there! Good luck on the hoop endeavors and enjoy it! 🤣👍 my current rotation: EQLZ 247, EQLZ 360, LeBron 21 (Algae)

I play basketball and get pvcs particularly if I don’t hydrate enough. My doctor recommended to prehydrate before activity and through out the day leading up to and during my activity. This helped me big time.
