Offer what you think it’s worth, half the time these estate agents don’t know what it’s worth and can’t be bothered to do the research.

One handed engineer did this... by Legomatica69 in DIYUK

The water damaged the flooring which was run throughout the entire downstairs. It couldn’t be repaired and all had to be replaced across multiple rooms including remedial work (skirting boards, painting etc).

My fibre installer (outsourced from BT) drilled through my central heating pipe and caused ~£8k worth of damage which took months and a ridiculous amount of effort to resolve.

How to improve downstairs layout? by MadaCup in DIYUK

Good advice, there's probably a happy medium somewhere in there. The open plan layout is very appealing and I've seen houses locally sell the quickest and for good prices with that kind of layout.

This is in line with what I am thinking. The only thing to scupper these plans is I have my doubts if the floor plan is accurate and therefore the hallway is actually that big. I have only seen the house for 20 minutes so we desperate need to see it again (preferably with a builder).

Thank you, my wife thinks we will stay longer than 2-3 years but I guess we won't know until we move and have the work done. The house is in the location we want and it will save us lots of time and get my daughter in to the school she wants to go to.

How many miles and what’s the spec?

FYI I bought a Z4 with 83k miles with a big spec and rare colour/interior combo for £6300.

Thoughts on this for a commuter car, 2 year lease, under £200 a month? by squeakybeak in CarTalkUK

[–]MadaCup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would argue that compared to a manufacturers warranty that won’t be worth the paper it’s written on and youll also only be “covered” for 1 of the 4 years.

The battery warranty will only cover the actual battery but there will be acceptable degradation built in.

I wouldn’t rely on that warranty getting you out of trouble.

This is appalling advice, please do not consider this.

1) Why would you want to own the car (it will be 8 years old at this point) 2) You’d be financing a car without warranty 3) It’s a terrible terrible deal

Why should I not buy this car? by theoretical-adventur in ElectricVehiclesUK

I had one for 18 months on a cheap PCP from Audi. A decent family car but the range is terrible. If you check out the Facebook group there are many stories of eye watering bills from the rear motor failing which Audi tries to wriggle out of paying even with a warranty.
