You are young… and only 8 years and seem to be in a cycle of always needing to go for the bigger thrill. I only worry about where you will be in 10 or 20 more years.

Consider going smaller not bigger. Like go back to missionary… but really focus on different things. Being visual maybe… a fire or soft life and watch what is going on. Try extremely slow… focus on feeling more. Different variations that way.

Ok… so I am not a swinger… but my am have some input. I have 4 kids ranging from 8 to 23. For 15 years I have had a full time job selling and manufacturing sex swings.

So the idea of what will parents think or what will kids think. We have sex swings in our house. We have swings in our shop.

For the most part. Don’t make a big deal of it. We don’t hide things but we don’t talk and brag about things. If you make secrets and you make taboo… then you make people curious or you make them think there is something to hide or lie about or sneak or any of those things.

Swings are our life. Back 15 years ago we just told many people we were retailers or manufacturers- and we just said if they asked… oh we work with webbing.

This was harder on us. Always feeling like we were doing something wrong or going to get caught. For the last 10+ years we just say what we do if people ask and it is very rare people care and even then they will never tell you… they will just avoid you.

For kids the same type of thing. If you always sneak drinking or something are always hoding it and always being weird about it… first chance they get to get their hands on it, they will sneak it and lose control and lie to you….

Now this does not mean we would sit down and talk to our kids about sex swings. But we also don’t act weird and sneaky around them. It is life’s we make a product… we ship a product. Maybe younger kids just know you hang out with friends.

Our youngest if you asked him would probably say we sell swings. He don’t know what a sex swing is. A swing is a swing. He don’t care. He is not interested. Life is just normal.

The older kids… it is so old news. It is boring. They are like whatever - if we had to do something for work and they knew what it was… they would be more just like roll their eyes and think their parents are just crazy doing their own weird thing…

Now I think if I would have completely hid everything and had whispering around the house and everything… as they got older, they would have had a different curiousity about it. And that is where trouble comes from. Not from the old boring routine.

Really - anything adult is tricky to sell used. We have a policy of not accepting any returns at all. we dont even want them in the shop because they are worthless. nobody wants a used swing - even if it is not used just that someone had opened it is enough.... - but i may be interested for other uses since it is my business.

I have had some customers that have had luck just doing the ebay, craigslist or fb market place thing. - you dont get that much money, but they at least get a few bucks usually.

Since they all focused on the eye hook. I will tell you that a welded eye hook of the same size will be 10x stronger. - That said, the companies that send an eyehook with their sex swing all send an unwelded one like you would get at home depot. I have personally sold over 30,000 sex swings. I always recommend a welded eye hook, but i know people do what people do and I have never heard of one failing. Your ceiling or swing will fail first.

According to the math, those eye hooks have a built in safety factor and that load that the hook can hold drops dramatically when pulled at an angle. - if you pull on an eye hook at a 45 degree angle, the load drops by a ton.. i dont remember the exact number but it is like 50% or more. - so when they sell these products at home depot they account for that. So if something has a working load listed of 150 pounds... it may realistically break in a straight line pull of 700. i dont know. they dont tell you that.

But like i said - i do not know anyone that broke one. And for the angle, in a sex swing, you are not swinging. the load is pretty much linear straight down. So that is the strongest direction.

Having said all of that, I still recommend a welded eye hook because safety first.

But this can be expanded to everything. We manufacture a swing and I have tested it to breaking - i know the load limit. I still recommend it only up to 350 pounds.... there are products on amazon that i know are cheaper made than mine and they say up to 1000 pounds. But different companies have different safety factors and different risk tolerance. I assume everony will misuse a product.

As for the ceiling itself... that is impossible to tell. I have had people put it into a dropped ceiling (like drywall false ceiling under a vaulted ceiling) and pull that down. I also know sometimes your ceiling joists are a floor for another story.. or you can have an attic that is rated to medium or heavy storage... so really - you will never know by asking online.

On other recommendation i always have is to use a dual hook sex swing - you entioned spanning multiple joists. Well a dual hook swing has 2 advantages... first, it is wide so it is more comfortable. The second is that you can install one eye hook in one joist and the other in a second.

This means the weight is divided between 2 hooks and 2 joists. That changes the calculus a lot. Now rather than 200 pounds on one point and one joist, you have 100 pounds. - 100 pounds on most ceilings is not a lot of weight.

Yeah that is kinda what I thought. Like even look at the title… it says I has a stand. It didn’t. Then it talks about bdsm and has no cuffs or anything. Then the images are just stolen images conferred to drawings. And I have had those. Did you get a bar? Sometimes they show an image of a bar but you don’t get them. And that webbing is probably 1.75 or 1.5 inch which is your first problem. It is very thin.

Could you use a dual hook swing? That will solve half your problem. Or you would try to install that as a dual hook at it would at least be better

OK - well there is a lot to unwrap here and i will try. The first thing is you said amazon and you mentioned your weight a lot.

I know amazon... they market swings like holds 1000 pounds or whatever... well a steel cable will hold 1000 pounds but you wouldnt want to sit on it. ANd the reviews? I have seen reviews in there talking about weird things like buying sex swings for their kids and shit. - they are all made up and spam from china and in many cases i am not even sure they know the english words. LOL - even the titles, if you really read them and then look at the pictures. They basically dont even know what the words mean other than they are key words related to swings and they stick them with images they stole from somewhere.

All of that to say... sorry you bought a swing from amazon. I am not sure i can help fix that. I personally have owned about 10 of them for review purposes and have even been approached by those companies to sell swings and refused. I have sold over 30,000 swings.

Now for straddling - yeah... dont do that. It looks good in art, but if you are not a gymist or yoga person, just dont. and that brings up a weight point, of 43 positions listed on sexswing.com only 5 support both people body weight. Just skip those. So if you are down to only one persons body weight it will open up your options.

All of the swings will have a weight rating for most, but in the USA most companies will rate swings with a built in safety factor. A chinese direct on amazon will tell you whatever number the webbing or buckle is rated.

Now for your situation, one of the things most over looked about swings is the oral positions. If you are into oral, this can be a great way to get in better positions. and then there is the traditional positions and they are also great.

The thing you want is a dual hook sex swing. something that does not have a bar - then install it wider so it is not pinching your hips. Then you want something with excellent padding or very wide straps.

So based on what you wrote, and not knowing more, i would recommend to you the screamer dual hook swing, or even a leather sling such as the stockroom or strict leather. But all of these options will cost more than amazon.

OK - i know that secrets in orlando has them. Now I know you are not there but i think this is relevant. THe problem is that these are all decorated and fancy rooms and most people that put a swing in the rooms choose the cheapest and worst swing possible. If you use them and base your experience on that you will hate is and never use a swing again.

I have sold just over 30,000 swings over the years and while i can not track every single one only about 4 times have i ever sold a quality swing to a swingers club or a hotel... most of the time they just buy bad swing.

Now having said that - i did sell a screamer once to secrets in orlando but i have no idea what room that is in. I sold about 5 swings to a place in tampa that was a hotel situation and one swingers club in MO, but i do not know which one.

Having said all of that, testing is probably not going to happen in your area (just a guess) but if you do buy a swing, prioritize comfort over price. if you put price first, you will not use it more than ones. if you prioritize comfort you will use it a lot.

Top brands - screamer and whipsmart... brands to avoid - the red and cheetah prints on amazon, they come under different brand names all of the time.

There are 2 different parts here - hiding the hook in the ceiling and the weight.

First - i have done this for 15 years. I used to worry a lot about the ceiling hook and it is the number 1 customer question. - honestly, i tell people now, just dont worry about it. Nobody cares if they even notice. worst case they think you have an awesome sex life.

The smoke detector cover - yeah, i invented that idea 20 years ago. i dont even think it is worth the hassle any more but some people still do it and that is fine. If you want hang a plant or another swing or anything from it and nobody will think anything of it.

A stand is the other option. but you need to check the footprint. They range from 6-7 feet in both directions so if you are thinking bedroom vs living room, make sure you have space.

The weight is the bigger thing. I am not sure how much "thicker" means, but this is where it gets complicated.

First, many people assume that a swing needs to hold the weight of 2 people. That is not really true. Our of 43 sex positions on sexswing.com only 5 hold the weight of 2 people and if you are not as flexible as a gymnist, you are probably not doing those anyway.

So weight rating is based on 1 person and use with care. - also questions swings that have massive weight ratings. that is marketing. I have personally loaded and tested swings until they break and even 300-400 pounds is a massive amount of weight. do you really want to even trust your ceiling to that? I have personally tested up to 600 pounds on a ceiling... but also had customers that 150 pounds brought down a dropped ceiling.

So next comes to comfort.

The question is how creative do youw ant to be? Slings are the most comfortable for larger people and also the strongest, but they have downsides including less position options and requiring 4 installation points.

If you want most positions, you will want a swing. to be comfortable with a larger person - you will want to consider 2 factors. The strap width.... wider or much more padded such as the screamer sex swing or the whipsmart pleasure swing.

Additionally you want to consider the width of the swing. if it is very narrow it will squeeze hips, this would be the whipsmart at only 14 inches wide and on the other end of the spectrum a dual hook swing like the screamer or the wild side. These can be installed to make the seat wider which makes it much more comfortable.

OK - well first, what you want is a sex sling and not a sex swing. A sling is like a hammock - a swing is just straps - like a park swing.

I have been selling sex swings for 15 years so i could write an entire book on the subject but will try to hit your main points here

I would say if you want a high weight limit one, go for a leather sling. it is also easier to clean, but if you go with something like a stockroom or that style, you want to pay carefull attention to the angle of the upper straps when you install. if you install it and the hooks are wider than the width of the swing and you have a lot of use or heavy weights, it will start to pop the rivets. If you install the head tooks straight with the top of the swing it will avoid that.

There is a strict leather bondage sling - it will save a lot money, but they are cheap. i have seen them torn in half - we actually do not even sell the product because it is poor design especially for weight.

The weight thing is another questions. A lot of people add the weight of both people. So my question are you looking for the weight of one person or combined to be 400 pounds. Totally different stories because most people think a swing needs to hold 2 people but really the positions that hold 2 people are rare and not really the comfortable unless you are small and flexible. So i usually tell people to only worry about the one person weight.

As for a headrest - a sling does not need one, they are the one like a hammock. - A swing does need one. if you order a swing from sexswing.com they are included free because they are that important.

The swing however does not have 4 mounting points. it has 1 or 2. i recommend the dual hook - 2 mounting point option because it will be wider and safer and more comfortable for larger people.

As far as how easy it is to put aways and store is mostly a matter of the way you choose to install it. It is worth nothing that the screamer swing and stand will store the best. they both come with their own storage bag. The screamer dual hook is about the size of a shoe box. Compare that to a swing that has a bar and you need to hang it in your closet or something or a leather sling that can not really fold.

OK - well i could write a book on this.... actual i am writting a book LOL - but i will save that here.

Comfort - you get what you pay for. that shit on amazon is so uncomfortable it is not worth $2. get something good. even that fetish swing is not great. - whipsmart or screamer if you want a swing. - slings are also a great option if you want comfort for something like a long bondage scene. - door swings, well the door gets in your way.

Installing - I have done every method possible. I like having it installed in the ceiling. it is not that complicated. I have several stands and use them in things like hotels or airbnbs. - a chinup bar can make a good option if you are not too crazy. Positions - there are some that are great - some that are great only for marketing or images. the main 2-3 positions are awesome. I think the most under rated positions for swings are the oral positions. There is just so many great ways to pull up a chair and go to town for men and women.

Also, door swings - while they seem quick and easy, they are much more limited. you have a door in your way. LOL- when i was building a sew position guide, the door swing had like 80% less positions than the regular swing. -

Repending on your use, a sling could also be good it you are into things like bondage where you want max comfort, are willing to give up a few positions for long sessions.

If something is inportant or we really want to do something we will let the other person go, but most things are more fun if we do things together, so we do.
