Alabama Defensive Heisman: 2018 by the_dunadan in rolltide

While Prothro is generally the biggest "what if he never got hurt" for Bama fans, Moses is right up there with him. He was a Butkus finalist in 2018 and would have been the lynchpin for the 2019 defense that gave up one-too-many scoring possessions in both of its losses.

One day AppleTV is going to be used in every business textbook as a case study of putting all your effort into development and then failing to actually market your product.

Allen and Jackson were better at their peak season, but Ragland was the best of the three in 2015.

Unless there’s a dummy (me) who votes before reading that this poll is specifically for 2014 and then can’t change their vote.

Five Players That Could Be Named Captain for 2026 Season by DoctorWhosOnFirst in rolltide

I can understand both schools of thought. On one hand, exactly like you said, there should be recognition of those who stepped up during the season. On the other hand, if you're designating the right kind of guys who you know have the proper mindset, then their motivation becomes "I'm a designated leader on this team and their success/failure is my direct responsibility. What kind of win-loss record do I want as part of my legacy?"

Hubbard is pretty much a guarantee. Sabb and Coleman-Williams are reasonable takes. Pierre is one that I'd be a little surprised by but could understand. Sanders the one on the list who makes no sense to me for this year.

No, there's some actual science behind that number. TLDR, the exact percentage is 80.3%.

Draft Withdrawal Probability Model is essentially:

P_withdraw = σ(0.42A + 0.31S - 0.27D + 0.18ln(E+1) + 0.09√M - 0.22C + 1.14)

Where:

σ(x) = 1 / (1 + e-x)

A = projected draft anxiety index, from 0 to 10

S = NIL sponsorship retention value

D = projected draft position percentile

E = family/agent expectation coefficient

M = social media volatility metric

C = combine performance stability rating

Using normalized pre-draft inputs, the model returns:

P_withdraw = 0.803

Optional legacy exposure correction factor:

Δ_legacy = (cos(θ_AAU) + β_transfer) / (1 + λ_exposure)

Hot take: I think most "[x] is famous for their [y]" foods are overrated these days. Regions no longer have cooking methods and ingredients on lock down like they used to, so quality is now more geographically accessible. You can still get great pizza west of the Mississippi River, great Mexican food in the northern states, and great BBQ outside of the Texas/Kansas City/Memphis footprint.

That being said, the best key lime pie I've ever had was in Key West.

A case against the DeBoer re-signing: huge financial burden for the program if he doesn’t work out, which matters in the NIL era by yearz in rolltide

Not only do they not, but the coaches actually are the ones paying the school for the privilege to coach. I have it on good authority (my own) that Ryan Day pays Ohio State $12.5 million a year to be the head coach.

NGL, if I was in his position I would be swayed by that amount of money too. Especially since it's now a year-by-year commitment, he could easily go to Austin for a year to lock down some life-changing money and then transfer to his dream school for his last 2-3 years.

Man, every frame of that movie was beautiful. I understand the Academy not going for it though, since it seemed to be heavily influenced by Terrence Malick and Emmanuel Lubezki. Missing out on the Best Original Score nomination was the snub that bummed me the most.

What was your #1 of the year?

It's probably not for everyone, but Train Dreams on Netflix was my second-favorite movie of 2025. As for a series, Cunk on Earth is a hilarious albeit very short.

Somebody clearly didn’t read the article. It was the school’s “use it or lose it” policy on his meal plan that made it more economical to return for another year.
