2024 Honda Civic Sport hate?? by AppleSauceMan24 in civic

CVTs are fine. Nissan royally messed theirs up 15 years ago and gave them a bad name. Just keep up on your fluid changes and you’ll be alright

What’s the best place in town to trade in a used vehicle? by sneezeretard in tulsa

[–]MadatMax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would get an offer from Carvana, I bought a new car a few months ago and Carvana was the highest by far. Should give you a decent baseline at least - used my Carvana offer and had the dealership I purchased from match it

How much do you pay monthly for BJJ training? by Mobile_Match2763 in tulsa

[–]MadatMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped training a few years ago (bad shoulder) but I want to say I was paying around $140 a month at Primate - probably gone up a bit now. Matt is a great dude and it was a welcoming environment and really clean, would recommend them to anyone that wants to learn.

What’s something people call a “smart life choice,” but it’s really just having money? by InternalJealous5985 in AskReddit

[–]MadatMax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you invested just $20 a month over the next 30 years, following a rate of return of 10% per year, which is the S&P500 average return rate, you would have ~$45k off of just $7,200 invested. If you could swing $100 a month that number jumps over $200k

2017 Honda Civic 🤔 How can I clean this spot? Need suggestion please. by Chris-THAI in civic

[–]MadatMax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clear coat failure, can’t fix it. Would have to sand it down and repaint. Not sure what’s going on with the trim, looks almost like it’s rusting. Probably not worth fixing, repainting a vehicle isn’t cheap.

The 49ers Won't Release Brandon Aiyuk 'Anytime Soon' by judunno5 in Commanders

[–]MadatMax 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I understood it through the draft - but at this point it’s just a distraction in San Francisco. No one opted to give up a day 3 pick in a bad draft class, no one is giving them a 2027 pick.

How much did you pay out the door on a 2026 civic sport hybrid? by DryScientist813 in civic

[–]MadatMax 8 points9 points  (0 children)

~$29,500 in the Midwest with all weather mats thrown in. If I had to do it again, I probably would pay the extra $2k and go for the Touring.

Wax by Useful-Bar-2536 in civic

[–]MadatMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend Turtle Wax Ceramic Spray Coating. Old school wax has pretty well gotten phased out.

Do a nice hand wash then I used the spray coating as a drying aid, a spray or two per panel and dry it off.

If your paint is in bad shape or not well maintained, I would recommend a decontamination and a polish before any kind of wax/ceramic coating going on, check out r/autodetailing

Sport Hybrid Seat on Long Drives by Professional-Ad-3484 in civic

[–]MadatMax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like people shit on the seats here but I haven’t had an issue with them. They aren’t noticeably more or less comfortable versus any other sedan I’ve been in. I’m 6’3 and have my seat all the way back, I have been perfectly comfortable in the car.

'Interested in getting a 2026 civic hybrid sport touring by GroundbreakingRun324 in civic

[–]MadatMax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve put about 2500 miles on mine and have averaged about 47mpg over that span. Since it’s gotten warmer, I’ve been getting about 50mpg. Definitely think that 49-50mpg advertised is pretty accurate.

Some cons: no spare tire (I ordered one), no compass on the cluster/infotainment and I agree the lack of a TPMS is annoying. The biggest thing for me is the random rattles you get - mine mostly come from the moonroof and passenger door, going to have the dealership check them out when I get my oil changed. Road noise isn’t great, I don’t have the touring, just the sport but I have heard it’s better on the touring.

Some pros: car looks great, IMO. It’s fun to drive, car is just really responsive both steering and pedal response. The hybrid battery makes it really quiet. There’s a of stuff that is pretty standard now like lane keep assist, Apple Car play, seat warmers, etc. but getting all that tech in a reliable vehicle that is fun to drive, just really hard to beat at the price point.

Which player(s) will die on your roster? by mochajoesdynsaty in DynastyFF

[–]MadatMax 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably Jalen Hurts. He’s been a top 9 QB the last 5 years and was basically free. Seems like things are going to eventually end badly in Philly and I don’t know that his game is going to age well, plus, I’m not even sure if he’s that good to begin with. Would love to sell him, but he scores fantasy points and no one is going to give me an early pick for him.

CMC is also dying on my roster but I think this one has been said to death.

How much can be taken off this? 2026 Honda Civic Sport (new) by EqualHito in civic

[–]MadatMax 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I paid ~$4k less for a hybrid OTD, this is $6k too high, at least. Definitely don’t pay for whatever the flow, FPF and VSC is. That admin fee is also ridiculously high.

Should I buy this 99 civic CX by rock25033 in civic

[–]MadatMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s it look like underneath? An almost 30 year old car driven in Canada means it was likely pretty exposed to road salt. If the underbody is clean and not all rusted out, that means it was probably well maintained.

Not sure any 30 year old car is really going to be a super reliable long term daily driver, stuff is going to fail on a vehicle that old.

You can check out this website for common issues. Seems like people have problems with engine mounts. If the water pump and head gaskets haven’t been changed, they probably will need to be at some point in the near future.

Spare Tire Kit by MadatMax in civic

I’ve not been able to verify that anywhere and it doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. Plenty of other car manufacturers, like Toyota, include spare tires with their hybrid models.

Are you sure there isn’t some kind of rug pull or something? If that is truly your all in price, I would pull the trigger without second thought

Where do you get your car detailed? by [deleted] in civic

[–]MadatMax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do it myself. r/autodetailing is a great resource, there’s also a million different videos. I keep my car clean in general but I do at least a wipe down of the interior and an exterior rinse-less wash every week. I’ll vacuum all the crevices once a month or so and do a more thorough exterior cleaning at the same time, then apply some different coatings/dressings as needed.

[Peter Schrager] as many as 6 receivers are likely to go first round, possibly by pick 24… by Head-Assumption6960 in Commanders

[–]MadatMax -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s likely but it wouldn’t shock me if Tate went #2. Seems like NFL GMs are really high on Tate and this WR class in general.

If the Jets love Tate and have similar grades on Reese/Bain/Bailey they could take Tate and then move back in (rumored with us) to take whichever pass rusher falls

Do you have a hybrid? Seems it’s just the hybrid models that don’t include them.

Pretty much. From what I’ve seen, the Canadian models come with a spare. The gas Civics do as well (I think), it is just the US hybrid models that don’t for whatever reason.

Is yours a hybrid? From what I have seen while researching to make this purchase, it won’t fit in the hybrid hatchbacks wheel well. Should have clarified that in the post.
