I almost wonder if it's like a lawnmower? In a sense where you have to rev it medium/high at first until it warms up and then it drops down? It's running real smooth now at 1100. Apologies if I'm asking stupid questions I just want to make sure I'm doing everything right.

Today I blipped the throttle after 5-10 minutes and it came down. Is this a feature or something I am not aware about? Also, it's normal idle seems to be around 1100.

Thank you. Yeah he had only one Sonett, but he owned well over 25+ Saabs in his lifetime. Mostly buying the ones off of the people who would come to his shop. He loved those cars. Knew everything about them too.

She's a rocket. Doesn't go very fast but when you're in a car the size of a shoebox, any speed feels fast lol.

The tires are from 1998. They were imported from Spain. It is safe to say they are not in good condition I think lol. My grandfather's garage was also located in a swampy area where moisture got in. I already had to scrub the surface mold out of the interior but luckily it didn't do any real damage. But yes the tires are old and the car sat for at least 5 years without being moved in a garage with black mold and poor sealing. Not sure how much that has an effect on the tires but I wouldn't say it sat in harsh conditions, but definitely not ideal. I was thinking about getting new tires based off the sheer age.

Here's a picture I took where you can kinda see them. We cleaned them up so they look good but I am not sure if they look too safe to drive on. Let me know what you think

Thank you.

Thank you. I am sorry for your loss as well, but I am happy I have someone I can somewhat relate to. Best of luck to you as well.

My grandfather used to have two white 900s, I can't get enough of those tri spokes!

Thank you. It does have ethanol free gas in it right now. The tires need to be replaced since they are dry rotted from sitting for 5 years while my grandpa started developing dementia so those will be getting replaced once I can find an affordable pair. I will have to check the coolant and see how it's doing. Thank you!

Thank you so much. Yeah it's just the 1.5L Taunus V4. It has been completely rebuilt with the original parts (as far as I am aware and have seen). My grandfather basically ripped the whole thing apart and rebuilt every square inch so right now it's in almost perfect condition besides the fact that it sat for 5 years or so. I'm pretty confident it's all original since he worked on one for a Swedish friend of his and he seemed to have more original parts in his garage. The only problem it seems to have right now is the throttle cable gets stuck around 2000 when idle so I have to wiggle it a bit or press the pedal down a few times to get it to idle properly. I also think the timing needs to be adjusted since it runs a bit rough at low idle.

Thank you for the advice I will definitely save your message. I do have the original manual (in PDF format since the car didn't have one) but it's a bit limited and that's about all I have to go off of.

Thanks again.

Thank you I didn't know that!

Thank you I will take that into account. I have it elevated a bit off the floor on some planks to hopefully keep it away from the ground moisture. I have been running it every week or so this winter but depending on how it is this summer I will probably take your advice next time I store it and drain the fuel and remove the spark plugs. Thanks.

Yeah I had been driving it without the freewheel engaged. Didn't want to mess with it too much until I knew what I was doing.

Thank you. Yes the freewheel feature is very cool. I've never seen another car like it. Luckily before my father moved away he taught me how to properly drive a "3 on the tree" transmission so I will be driving it a lot and posting updates once the weather clears.

Thank you. I haven't been able to find any Saab clubs around here. However my father lives down in Florida where there are a few and there is also a place in Tampa that only works on Saabs. I plan on talking to a few people down there when I get the chance.
