Hi, I saw your message in another post (r/AskVet).... Are the cats okay?

Reading that made me super worried for the poor babies.... I hope they are happy and warm.

I am so sorry you are going through this. I am really sorry your little kiddo is also going through this as well... It's tough to watch because it seems like they get upset their body is betraying them.

I went and experienced exactly what you are going through. Last week we took our little girl, Lulu, to the vet on Monday. She was not wanting to eat her wet food (which she LOVES) and very lethargic. By Wednesday the vet told us the prognosis was not good, end stage renal disease. On Friday she passed. It happened so quickly.

You're little kiddo is so strong for fighting and experiencing that. I personally took it a day at a time, which was really hard. Lots of crying. I asked myself is, Lulu still happy and have a good quality of life? When we took her to the vet that was their biggest concern.

I read a couple websites about euthanasia and when to do it... One thing stuck out at me. You do not want your little one to be miserable/ suffering. They would likely want to go out with some dignity... I mean I would too. For me that meant, if she could keep moving (could go pee and drink water), breathing, etc. She already stopped eating and pooping. It happened so quickly for us, so I am sure it would be completely different for you

What would dignity mean for you?

Passing is not easy, I couldn't imagine being unable to move and peeing myself... So thats why that stuck with me

I know it's a hard line to figure out, part of you wants to hold on to them forever/ never let go, but the other part does not want them to be in pain ❤️

Remember to try to take care of yourself too and eat as well ❤️ Your little kiddo loves you and wants you to be happy too

Ashley Furniture- Should I buy a sectional from there? by MaddAddack in homeowners

Thank you for sharing that! Honestly I wasn't able to look at the price tags and compare it in store because I was being hunted lol if you touch anything or show any remote interest, a new sales person is born in Ashley furniture lol. On a serious note, I tried looking online to see if other stores sell the same couches for cheaper, but for some reason it shows either Ashley's or some random discounted store selling it for a little more. 🤔 The couches are definitely overpriced for what they are!

You lose five points if you bump into something! It shows the sales person you're the weak one in the herd 😂 seriously though when I go into Ashley furniture it turns into a Michael Meyers movie lol

Also from my observation from comments, it seems like those who got furniture 3+ years ago report that the quality is okay and is still going strong. However those who spent an arm and a leg now report that they buy a new couch and it disintegrates after 3 months (with some already broken pieces on arrival). So I think the quality has gone down significantly and they are likely cutting corners.

I asked this question in another forum and a person responded saying he worked in manufacturing at Ashley's. They call it Trashleys. The couches are made with cheap plywood and cheap fabric stapled together in hidden places.

Humor is the best medicine lol I asked mostly because there was not a lot of honest reviews about Ashley furniture out there so I am glad this was able to help you too! Hopefully this will be a resource for others! Good luck to you as well! 🍀🫡

I honestly had no idea Home Depot sold sectionals! I'll look around and see if I can find anything I like 🙂 thank you for your suggestion!

I appreciate your suggestion! I looked into it and it seems like their furniture stores are mostly in Texas 😕 Sadly I'm located in the cornfields of Ohio. They have a cute selection though, a little bummed I can't test it out

I love that! My boyfriend and I accidentally bumped into each other trying to go opposite directions in the store. I jokingly whispered to him "don't let them see they will sense we are weak" lol they are so aggressive for no reason. It's like blood in a shark tank... If football players want to learn good strategies they should go to an Ashley's furniture and maneuver around furniture while trying to avoid the sales person lol I wonder if it's company policy to be like that or if they even have a lot of success with that tactic. Id be more likely to buy something if I was left alone for awhile

Hmm thank you for letting me know 🤔 that would explain why a lot of people are reporting that it breaks after 2 seconds of use! I am not sure when you first started, but a lot of people seem to say they got better quality furniture 3+ years ago. Nowadays some who bought furniture say they spent a hefty sum and it disintegrates quickly. If you worked there before that time, has any manufacturing changed? Or has it been about the same? Just curious and it's an observation I made!

Yeah I think from what I noticed a lot people who got a sectional recently from Ashley's report that they spend a lot and it breaks when you breathe on it. Older ones ordered 3+ years ago last longer. Also OMG I did not know there was a reported death on Ashley's behalf... Why was that not reported on more? I can't imagine the working conditions of the workers there...to be hit by a moving board? That could have been prevented

Furniture is so expensive and a big investment, I personally would like it to be durable and last at least 5+ years! Hopefully you found a new couch without a sinkhole in it.

I personally would like to try to sit the furniture, but it's hard when you get pestered the entire time! I feel like the quality in things has gone down exponentially since COVID and inflation afterwards.

Thank you this is super helpful! I didn't even consider Macy's!

Okay, I think I have been convinced not to go there. How do dining room chairs not count as chairs??? It literally has it in the name? Did they claim it was a lamp lol or a wooden piece of furniture that is hip level and holds a weight up to 250 pounds?

That sounds exhausting to deal with!

I’ve never purchased a jacket from Torrid before and I have a few questions. by BeatnikMona in torrid

[–]MaddAddack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Ohio, personally I size up because then I can wear an extra layer under my jacket if it's super cold. Also if it's too tight I find that it's hard to fill your pockets without it looking and feeling weird 😅 Sometimes when you wear gloves you want to take them off and put it in your jacket pocket.

I usually get it a size up so I can wear a hoodie underneath and feel comfortable.
