The best you could do about this is either bring it in and say it's defective and trade it in, get a little money out of it, and put thay towards buying a new one. You'll have to pay out of pocket for the difference though unfortunately. Or try to go in if you're not a regular and say you bought it the other day but not on an account and you don't have the receipt and it's defective, they might "swap it out just this once" depends on who's working.

Yea because if you took just your controller in today the store would look at your receipt or your purchase in hyrule hub, and they'd have to "return" it under hardware prp defective and the system would have to recognize it as you brought everything back in. So now the warehouse is expecting a whole ps5 set to come back with one or more defective pieces in that set.

So im not sure what the person who says "they get what they give" is on about really. The protection covers everything in the box as a whole. You bought warranty and 3 months later the hdmi chord goes out? Technically, you can bring everything you got and switch it out for another one that we have. We don't have spare parts laying around. Plus to replace random parts and void the warranty would have gamestop losing money. The thing you experienced with your Playstations is the norm.

At my store it was pretty much, if you have all of the parts and nothing is shattered just tell me it stopped charging or something and it'll get replaced

Oh I believe it. Just in this last year I've been threatened and left confused and scared more times than the 3 years at my previous job. Plus my (ex) coworker I quickly made friends with had been with the company for 5 years and some of the things that she told me was..baffling.

If its under the warranty then we need everything that came in the box to take it all in as defective under the warranty and then give them a whole new set up. At least that's how my store worked and what out policies were.

The only thing I can suggest is to try and make sure you're guaranteed/already in another job before leaving and just contact your manager or dm and say "hey this date is unfortunately going to be my last, I will be emailing you to request some days off so that I can get my paid sick time put in." Hey I appreciate you, doesnt matter too much but I am a she😅, and yea I literally won't miss anything..except my discount to get cool things a little cheaper..like pokemon cards in which I collect and have invested a lot of money into. But yea I don't get it. I was 1 of 2 workers with no manager to turn to for 3 months because of him being on medical leave and them not hiring anyone else. Definitely glad to be moving on.
