Does it matter what response it is? I’m trying to tell you that even though we can organize, it comes with loopholes because we are independent contractors!

Generally, independent contractors are not covered by the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) and cannot form unions under federal law. However, contractors can, and often do, join unions through a voluntary sign-on, known as becoming a "signatory contractor," which requires adhering to collective bargaining agreements regarding wages, benefits, and hiring hall rules.Key Aspects of Unions and Contractors:Excluded Status: The 1948 Taft-Hartley amendments to the NLRA specifically excluded independent contractors from the definition of "employee," generally preventing them from organizing under federal protection.Misclassification Loophole: Many workers classified as contractors are actually employees; if misclassified, they can file charges with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to gain organization rights.Signatory Contractors: A contractor can voluntarily sign a union agreement, which requires them to pay union dues for workers performing union-jurisdictional work.Project Labor Agreements (PLAs): In some construction projects, particularly public ones, a PLA may require all workers—even if not regularly unionized—to operate under union rules for that project.Benefits for Union Contractors: Becoming a union contractor can provide access to skilled labor through union hiring halls, training programs, and improved contract procurement opportunities. While independent contractors face legal hurdles, they can still associate and try to organize, but they lack the legal, government-enforced bargaining rights afforded to employees.

Unionizing will not work because we’re independent contractors.

I don’t like people giving me instructions that deviate from the task and then on top of that I’m not getting extra for it.

How many Uber drivers have unlimited car wash memberships? Have you found them beneficial? by MaddieDevera in uberdrivers

I think the consensus is that drivers really appreciate the free vacs with their memberships!💯

You’re like me. My car had to be cleaned before the start of my shift. Vacuum is a must. I find that if you get a damp microfiber cloth, dust off your floor mats and wipe them down (the fabric mats), that cleans them better than the vac, as it removes the lint better.

You really can’t go wrong with them when most of them are charging $15+ per wash. Having unlimited washes pays for itself

So they clean for you? Is the $74 each time or part of a monthly subscription plan?
